One week from now, the Erasmus Generation will meet in Ancona, Italy, for its biggest gathering of the year - the Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM). We are expecting more than 1000 people to join us at EGM Ancona 2025, from the 3rd until the 6th of April, and guide the waves of change towards Empowering Youth as the Changemakers of Society. Day 1 of EGM Ancona 2025 is officially in the books! 📖 Under the theme „Empowering the Erasmus Generation to Guide the Waves of Change“, we opened the day: We listened to inspiring speeches and panel discussions centred around the substantial impact that student mobility has on our lives and the importance of students and volunteers at the core of internationalisation of our education and way of living. At the EGM Expo, we then explored the mobility programmes and opportunities that our Network has to offer. The economics faculty of the Marche Polytechnic University was suddenly filled with countless curious souls, engaging with each other and discovering the width and diverse possibilities of their Network right at their fingertips. But this is not all: Today, our rich programme of sessions has started and brought together volunteers, students, alumni, stakeholders and institutions to exchange their ideas and share their thoughts on critical topics around the future of student mobility and the impact of student engagement to be the changemakers of today’s society. 📣 Missed our morning plenaries? The fourth edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting has officially started! After the iconic Flag Parade, which coloured the streets of Ancona through the celebration of unity in diversity, the Erasmus Generation gathered in front of the Muse Theatre, ready to kick-start EGM Ancona 2025. We were welcomed to the city of Ancona with open arms and a joint vision of guiding the waves of change. The welcome speeches were enriched with cultural moments, music, inspiring stories, and a feeling of belonging that the Erasmus Generation brings everywhere we go. The final day of the Erasmus Generation Meeting Ancona 2025 is dedicated to celebrating the Erasmus Generation and the achievements of the Erasmus Student Network over the past year. The moderators leading us through this day are Tajana Mohnacki, Vice President of ESN International 2019-2021, and Wim Gabriels, the Director of ESN International. Moreover, Darwyn Bruelemans, the Web Project Administrator of ESN International, and Rui Vinha, the Treasurer of ESN International, will take the participants through some key learnings from this year and milestones awaiting us in the near future. Other than finding out who will be the next Erasmus Destination of the Year, we will also celebrate the achievements and impactful initiatives of our Network through ESN Awards. Saturday at the Erasmus Generation Meeting Ancona 2025 will be all about the ✨Erasmus Destination of the Year✨ and the impact volunteers have on student mobility, moderated by the President of ESN International 2021-2023 Juan Rayón González. Kaja Kaczkiełło, the Vice President for Governance of ESN International, will bring the participants closer to the motto of ESN, Students Helping Students, and the meaning behind it, showcasing the power of volunteering. Besides hearing more about the initiative from Lina Mohorić, the Communication Manager of ESN International, and Mariana Costa, the President of ESN Porto, last year's winner, we will also see 5 pitches from 5 finalists of the Erasmus Destination of the Year 2025: Aarhus, Łódź, Riga, Tallinn, and Wrocław. Join the AsCOLA Final Conference in Brussels! The AsCOLA Final Conference will take place on May 6, 2025, at Mundo Matongé in Brussels, bringing together higher education institutions, students, and policymakers to discuss the role of student feedback in improving Erasmus+ mobilities. The conference will address key challenges related to course enrollment, scheduling, and recognition in Erasmus+ mobility programs. It will also introduce the AsCOLA course evaluation tool, designed to support students in making informed course choices and assist institutions in enhancing course quality.
