We attended the Transitions Project final conference last week, where we learned about their results and got our hands on their attractive and effective Loopholes Toolkit! We recommend anyone working in training for a sustainable T&C to look into this. We were also amongst other European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) Erasmus+ projects AddTex and SiT - Sustainability in TCLF, and had a few minutes to share our progress, especially our new Green VETRINE course. Last week was a remarkable opportunity for learning, collaboration, and innovation! We hosted T-LAB at Città Studi Biella in Biella, Italy, just ahead of the Transitions Final Conference in Milan. This immersive, hands-on event brought together vocational students, higher education institutions, and industry professionals to explore cutting-edge approaches to circularity, regenerative design, and sustainable business models in the fashion and textile industries. Through interactive workshops, company visits, and real-world design challenges, participants gained practical skills and valuable insights into the transition towards a more sustainable industry. But T-LAB was much more than a training experience—it became a catalyst for innovation, cross-sector dialogue, and meaningful collaboration. A key highlight of T-LAB was the rich exchange of ideas and expertise among emerging designers, engineers, communicators, researchers, and sustainability experts. These connections are laying the foundation for future projects and initiatives, reinforcing the critical role of collaboration in driving systemic change. As part of the Transitions Project, T-LAB plays a fundamental role in empowering the next generation of fashion and textile professionals with the skills, networks, and mindset needed to reshape the industry towards a circular and regenerative future. We are excited to see how these learnings and connections will continue to spark change in the industry! It has been an absolute pleasure!! We are at Città Studi Biella for the T-Lab (February 4-6), immersing ourselves in a dynamic learning experience. We started by exploring the final version of the Loopholes Toolkit (play here: https://lnkd.in/dHP8inE2), followed by insightful talks from Slow Fiber, ARTKNIT STUDIOS, and Consorzio Biella The Wool Company, gaining valuable perspectives on circularity and innovation in textiles. To deepen our learning, we split into three specialized pathways: - VET: Digital Design for Circular Practices – The group visited Piacenza , a family-owned luxury textile company (14 generations strong), where craftsmanship meets innovation. - HEI: Designing Beyond Sustainability – This group explored Marchi & Fildi Group, a leader in sustainable and innovative yarns for fashion, furnishings, and technical applications. - PRO: Glocal Partnerships for Circular T&F Transitions – They visited MagnoLab, a network of textile companies collaborating across the supply chain to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the industry. Exciting discussions, hands-on experiences, and valuable connections are shaping the way forward for circularity in textiles and fashion.
