Manufacturing and assemblying modular and reusable Electric Vehicle batteries for a lightweight mobility
Sobre nosotros
The MARBEL project develops an innovative and competitive lightweight battery with the objective to accelerate the mass market take-up of electric and hybrid vehicles. MARBEL will design, develop and demonstrate a new compact, modular, weight-optimised and high-performance battery pack with longer life, greater energy efficiency in charging and energy use based on a robust and flexible battery management system (BMS) along with ultra-fast battery charging and cooling. Modularity will make possible to streamline repair, servicing and recycling processes, while preserving the value of new batteries and reducing hazards for operators and environmental impact. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 963540.

[ 🗞️ PRESS RELEASE] The #MARBELproject, coordinated by Eurecat - Technology Centre has developed a new eco-designed, modular electric vehicle battery concept. By prioritizing ease of assembly and disassembly and applying ecodesing principles, the battery’s innovative design makes repairs, second-life applications, and recycling much more efficient. Plus, each pack incorporates up to 60% post-consumer recycled aluminium —cutting emissions by up to 777 kg of CO₂ per battery. In addition to the environmental benefits, MARBEL battery prototypes feature an intelligent system and a digital twin that can predict remaining useful life, and state of charge, amongst other indicators. A new cooling system and switchable junction box enable ultra-fast charging and flexible transitions between 400 and 800 volts. Project results have been possible thanks to a fruitful collaboration amongst Eurecat - Technology Centre, Stellantis Italia, IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya, SINTEF, Agrati Group, AVL Deutschland GmbH, AVL in Italy, FICOSA, ICCS - NTUA , OTC Engineering, Applus+ IDIADA, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, Fraunhofer IWU, PowerTech Systems, ASAŞ ALÜMİNYUM SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş. & SK tes To know more about MARBEL project results, read the press release here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dRxSHZi6
