It’s always been the dream that computers will help us do our work. To calculate faster, remember more, and evaluate data at scales beyond the human mind. The only problem is that we’ve been using the wrong computers. Standard computers are great at repetitive tasks. They perform great with well-defined pathways and processes and strict rules that they can follow. The problem is that our world doesn’t work that way. Our processes are flawed, change all the time, and are messy. Our rules bend when situations change. Our work is complicated by our connections to other people and their processes and problems. All of this is to say that Steve Jobs was right when he said “computers were a bicycle for the mind.” They do help give us leverage to augment our memories and calculations. But we need much more than a bicycle. To transform human knowledge work, we don’t need a bicycle, we need a jet pack, a submarine, a spaceship, and a superhuman operator all at the same time. We need a different computer. AI was supposed to be that computer. The only problem is that we can’t have hallucinations and false data in the enterprise. We can’t vibe our way through a spreadsheet. It’s part of the answer, for sure, but not the whole answer. Maisa is building a new type of computer. It’s a virtual computer that has a new type of brain. This brain is split into two hemispheres, just like our brain. On one side is AI, that does all the creative problem-solving we need when our systems fail us. And on the other side is a traditional, deterministic, fact-based, repeatable logic machine. Maisa puts the two together for the first time. Let’s look at an example. RPA is the biggest disappointment of the last decade. Automation was supposed to solve all our problems, but it turned out to be expensive, slow, brittle, hard to get started and even harder to change. Every Digital Transformation and Innovation team that had budget for RPA is tearing their hair out at how little they get for how expensive it is and how hard they have to work to try to make things easy. GenAI is no help. You can’t throw hallucinations into the enterprise and expect to stay in business. Everything in the enterprise needs to be auditable from day zero. Data needs to stay uncorrupted. Your single source of truth needs to actually be true. Maisa is different. We are a new kind of virtual computer, a KPU, Knowledge Processing Unit. We use AI to work through the set-up, problem-solving, and handling the mess of the work environment, and then real data, real deterministic, repeatable code for the actual execution. We are the first blend of both to get you a totally new way to work. What an incredible day at #FUTUREWIT24! 🌟   We were thrilled to see 2,000 people online and over 300 attendees in person, coming together to explore the future of #GenerativeAI and how to build a more equitable and diverse tech industry.   We talk about:   🙋♀️ Creating Safe Spaces for Women: Events like these are crucial for empowering women to see themselves in the future of GenAI. Together with partners like MongoDB, Cognizant, Amazon, Repsol, Telefónica, we are fostering an inclusive tech community.   🤝 Collaborative Efforts: When it comes to #EthicalAI, we must work together beyond competition at an international scale.   💰 Economic Impact: #AI is driving increased productivity, innovation, and the creation of new markets, particularly for SMEs adopting digital solutions at a rapid pace. AI is also contributing to reindustrialization by making processes more sustainable.   We also tackled the key concerns for us today, working together to solve: 🔸 Bias and Discrimination 🔸 Privacy, Safety, and Security 🔸 Transparency and Explainability 🔸 Job Displacement 🔸 Fairness and Accountability   And for the future female tech leaders out there, the advice was clear:   - Don’t wait to be included, make your move - Have a detailed plan  - Choose mentors, coaching, and focus on diversity   - And for companies: Establish rules for inclusion 🙏   To close, we heard from LAS TECHNOSTARS, the regional winners of the Technovation Challenge in Spain with their app LEO.
