🔋 Lightweight, sustainable, and high-performing solutions for electric mobility — that's what the Albatross Project H2020 is all about! At #aimenct, we are working on the development of an innovative thermoplastic composite top cover for electric vehicle battery trays. Our goal? To reduce weight by up to 20%, improving energy efficiency and extending driving range. 📽️ In this video, our colleague Paula Rodríguez Alonso guides us through the full manufacturing process behind the redesigned battery tray top cover, made from thermoplastic composite using recycled carbon fibre and polyamide 6 from Gen 2 Carbon . From material cutting and layer stacking to laminate pressing, machining, and final assembly — every step is optimised to ensure performance, reliability and sustainability. Ayer tuvimos el placer de reunirnos, en nuestro centro láser en O Porriño, con diferentes representantes de la Cámara Oficial Minera de Galicia (#COMG) y sus asociados, Pedra Ingeniería, S.L., #ÁridosDoMendo y #RdG (RDG - Recursos de Galicia). ⛏️ Nuestro Director General, Jesús Angel Lago Gestido, los recibió en nuestras instalaciones, y los compañeros Santiago Grandal Montero y Daniel Gesto, les presentaron las capacidades y últimos desarrollos que llevamos a cabo en #AIMEN. ✈️ Over the past few weeks, our Artificial Intelligence team has been on the move, sharing research insights and advancing innovation across Europe and beyond! 🌍 🔹 In #Kyoto, Japan, Santiago Muiños Landin, Andrea Gregores Coto, and Andrea Fernández Martínez attended the 11th International Conference on Computing and Artificial Intelligence (#ICCAI 2025), held from March 28–31. A huge thank you to GKN Aerospace Sweden for hosting the CAELESTIS - Next Generation Aircraft month 36 General Assembly in Trollhättan, Sweden, on April 7–9 ❗ With the final 6 months of the project ahead, it was the perfect moment to bring the whole consortium together to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far and align on the path forward. 🛫 ➡️ From productive meetings to a fun game of shuffleboard, and a real taste of Swedish culture (including some amazing food! 😋). The combination of great organization, warm hospitality, and positive energy made everything both smooth and memorable. On day two, we also had the chance to visit GKN Aerospace Sweden’s impressive facilities and hold our second Advisory Board meeting — a valuable and insightful part of the agenda as we head into the final stretch. #AIMEN is leading this #HorizonEurope initiative, #CAELESTIS; which seeks to conduct groundbreaking technical research into virtual prototyping and #digitaltwins, with huge potential impacts on the #aviation industry.  🛩️ Our colleagues Cristian Builes Cárdenas, Ph.D, Mario Román Rodríguez and Verónica Mantecón López were part of this productive meeting. Last month, Luca Minelli and Jaume Nin, from TMCOMAS, visited #AIMEN's facilities to see firsthand the progress in the robot's routine for obtaining crankshaft geometry, an essential step towards achieving the objectives of R3-MYDAS project. ✅ Together with our colleagues Marcos Díez García, Rafaella Precker, Ph.D., Ana Fuentes Moldes and Rocío Pena Rois, they also analysed the results of the latest tests and explored new possibilities to develop more #sustainable #coatings. 👀 R3-MYDAS is a #HorizonEurope initiative in which #aimenct participates.
