  • It was a pleasure to welcome Christoph Kautz, Director of Satellite Navigation and Earth Observation, and Jonas Cederlof from the European Commission DG DEFIS to our office today! As part of their visit to Estonia, we had the opportunity, together with our partners in the Space Cyber Range Consortium, to discuss the future of cybersecurity in space and how the Space Cyber Range Project is strengthening Europe’s resilience. As we continue our work with the European Space Agency (ESA) on the Space Cyber Range, we are committed to ensuring that Europe’s space assets remain secure against evolving threats. Space systems are critical to modern infrastructure, and building cyber resilience in this domain requires close collaboration between industry, policymakers, and leading space organizations. A big thank you to our guests for the insightful discussions! Looking forward to the next steps in building a stronger European cybersecurity ecosystem. 🛰️ CGI CR14 Tartu Observatory Space Estonia SPACE IT Majandus- ja Kommunikatsiooniministeerium / Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications

  • CybExer, in collaboration with e-Governance Academy, organized a cyber exercise as part of the EU-funded Western Balkan Rapid 2.0 project, bringing together cybersecurity professionals from Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia 🇦🇱 🇲🇪 🇲🇰. The exercise focused on enhancing regional cyber preparedness and response capacity through: ✅ Real-world attack scenarios in a live-fire environment ✅ Sharing best practices for effective cyber defense ✅ Strengthening collaboration between institutions Participants also exchanged experiences on key challenges, including crisis communication. As Montenegro’s Head of Information Security, Dusan Krkotic, noted, past cyber incidents have highlighted the need for better public communication during crises.

“We did have a major cyber attack in 2022,” explained Dusan Krkotic, Head of Information Security, Montenegro Governmental Computer Incident Response Team. “And at the time, we did recognise that there is room for improvement in crisis communication, especially addressing the public.”  During the live-fire exercise, the participants had a chance to listen to new approaches and the most effective approach to address the crisis, how to convey the message effectively to the public, and how to communicate with the institutions. Also, the participants had the chance to exchange experiences with each other (🇦🇱 Albania, 🇲🇪 Montenegro, 🇲🇰 North Macedonia). Check out the recap video of the 3-day Live-Fire #Cybersecurity Exercise organised by e-Governance Academy and CybExer Technologies. 🛡️ These sessions were part of the EU-funded Western Balkan Rapid 2.0 project to enhance regional cyber preparedness and response capacity.
