What if seeing ourselves in nature could change how we define beauty? When we reconnect with nature, we remember who we are—not separate, not above, but part of it. We are nature. 🌿 We’ve been taught to perfect, polish, and strip away our beauty. But if nature doesn’t need correcting—neither do we. At Kaffe Bueno, we embrace raw colours, natural textures, and circular systems. When we honour the biology that connects us—skin to soil, cell to seed—beauty becomes more meaningful. Unlocking Coffee's Health Potential since 2016. Upcycling Coffee Into Bioactive & Functional Ingredients.
Om os
Established in 2016, Kaffe Bueno is the first company to ever fully breakdown and valorise spent coffee grounds into active and functional ingredients for personal care, advanced materials, animal and human nutrition. Through cutting-edge technology and patented applications of the unique coffee molecules, Kaffe Bueno is the pioneer and leader of the coffee upcycling movement. Our mission is to unlock coffee's health potential where harmful emissions are minimised and coffee’s by-product usability is maximised. By extending coffee's economical life, we will be able to give back to the people we owe its existence; farmers. Our vision is to transform the way people perceive coffee; from looking at it as a tool to make it until the end of the day, to look at it as a magical bean with the potential of improving human health by using what lies inside it.

Colour in a skincare formula doesn’t mean tint — it means function. In our latest video, Madeleine Chul, our Application Development Engineer, show how KAFFOIL® (a dark golden antioxidant oil) and KAFFAGE-D® (a deep brown active biopolymer) add richness to the Cortado Face Awaken Cream — without tinting the skin. KAFFAGE-D® boosts hydration by 29.6%, firmness by 12.2%, elasticity by 13.3%, and SPF by 26.1%. It also reduces UV-induced glycation by 49.6%. KAFFOIL® enhances skin repair (80% vs. 40% control) and cuts oxidative stress by up to 97%. These colours come from functional compounds — not dyes. If we made everything white by default, we’d be stripping away nature’s power. Colour is not a flaw. It’s function. It’s time to rethink what efficacy looks like. “How can we go green, when white stands in the way?” Yesterday at in-cosmetics Global our co-founder Alejandro Franco delivered a powerful talk: “Nature is Not White: Rethinking Beauty Standards for a Truly Natural Cosmetics Industry.” The room was full. The energy was real. And based on the responses, this isn’t just a conversation—it’s a movement. This goes beyond Kaffe Bueno. It’s about challenging legacy thinking and reimagining what progress looks like—for people, for nature, and for the industry as a whole. Change is already happening. The question is: are we evolving with it? #InCosmeticsGlobal #SustainableBeauty #GreenInnovation #InclusiveBeauty #FutureOfBeauty #WeAreNature
How can we go green, when white stands in the way? Though, is it truly white standing in the way? Or could it be our collective unconscious unwillingness to let go of the past?🤔 These were some of the many questions I posed to the industry yesterday. I am glad for the turn up of the talk, so many people came that there were not enough seats! To me, that says a lot. It reflects people are interested, that the topic is relevant, and the questions worth asking and thinking about.🧠 Based on the reactions and followed debate, a movement has just began. This is not about Kaffe Bueno. It is way bigger than that. It is about acknowledging the heavy baggages of the past that are holding us back in our eternal growth journey as humans, society, industry and nature. It is about stepping back and seeing the interconnected nature of things. One cannot pull forward without letting go (actively) of the past holding you back. We cannot use laggardic standards to serve a whole new world. We cannot embrace nature selectively. We must embrace all that comes with it. We cannot continue to see white as an objective if we are to be inclusive and natural. We cannot assume what was once true remains so today. We cannot assume the perceptions of the past are the same today. People have changed. The world has changed 🌍 So are you going to evolve with it, or will you stand in the way? Change will happen. Change has happened. Change is happening. All the time. Embrace it. Thank you to everyone who participated. Remember, now it’s time for action. And that starts from within. Within ourselves and our companies. Let’s go!🚀 #WeAreNature #BuenoMovement #Incosglobal #FutureThinking #NaturalCosmetics

What if the future of skincare actually looked like nature—colourful, textured, and diverse? The beauty industry claims to embrace “natural,” yet still insists on creams and serums that are white or transparent. But nature isn’t white! The “white = clean” myth still shapes how we formulate and market cosmetics today. But consumers are growing sceptical of products that look too perfect to be natural and are ready for cosmetics that embrace nature’s true colours. Polyphenols, chlorophyll, and carotenoids—nature’s bioactive powerhouses—aren’t just colour, they’re function. So why are we still erasing them? 🇳🇱 Join us tomorrow at in-cosmetics Global for "Nature is Not White: Rethinking Beauty Standards for a Truly Natural Cosmetics Industry," presented by our Co-founder Alejandro Franco. We’ll challenge formulators, marketers, and brand leaders to rethink outdated beauty standards—and why breaking free is key to meeting consumer expectations and sustainability goals. 📍 Sustainability Zone Theatre, Hall 11, 11B50 📅 Thursday, 10 April | 13:00 - 13:30 CET Can't make it tomorrow? Send us a message, and we’ll share the recording with you! #KaffeBueno #InCosmeticsGlobal #NaturalCosmetics #UpcycledIngredients #BeautyIndustry

If consumers are demanding real, natural products, why are we still formulating them to look sterile, clinical, and unnatural? We say we want nature in skincare, yet we reject its colours. From sunscreens that leave a white cast to bleaching botanical oils, the industry clings to an outdated belief: "white = clean." But at what cost? Stripping nature of its hues also strips away bioactive compounds—polyphenols, flavonoids, and chlorophyll—that provide real skincare benefits. Ironically, while brands market sustainability, many still prioritise aesthetics over authenticity, choosing white formulations over potent, naturally pigmented ingredients—even when it means unsustainable practices. Meanwhile, consumers are growing sceptical of products that look "too perfect" to be natural. Consumers are ready for authentic and truly natural products that embrace nature's colours. The future of skincare is not white—because nature never comes in just one colour. 🧡🤎💚 Take our quiz at the end of this article and discover how to align your formulations with nature’s true colours. #kaffebueno #wearenature #sustainability #upcycling #beautyindustry
