Last week, Ambassador Christophe Parisot had the pleasure to welcome Jan Makela, the new CEO and President of WS Audiology, for an insightful discussion around hearing aids developments, the specificities of the French market and healthy aging. A warm thank you to M. Makela who could join us for an industrious morning exchange at Thott Palace. It was also the occasion to reaffirm the strong ties between the Embassy and WSAudiology after the departure from its role of Eric Bernard, who lead the company between 2019 and 2024, and whom we value as a dear friend. Hopefully, this marks the start of a renewed relationship which will be rhythmed by many more connections. 🇫🇷🇩🇰 A look back at the State Visit of Their Majesties King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark to France from March 31 to April 2, 2025. This exceptional visit reflected the strong friendship between our two countries and led to new commitments for the future. 🔹 A highlight of diplomacy and cooperation: ✅ A Danish delegation including four ministers and more than 50 companies ✅ The signing of a strategic partnership between our two countries 🇫🇷🇩🇰 covering the main areas of our cooperation: 1️⃣ security and defense, 2️⃣ energy and climate, 3️⃣ health, 4️⃣ technology and innovation, and 5️⃣ cultural and scientific cooperation ✅ An Economic Forum that resulted in major agreements in the fields of health, energy, heritage protection, defense, and culture ✅ A showcase of French and Danish craftsmanship during a weaving ceremony, attended by the King and Queen of Denmark at the Gobelins Manufactory We were honored to welcome Their Majesties and the Danish delegation. 🤝 🇫🇷🇩🇰 Strengthening Cooperation Between France and Denmark! The second day of the State Visit of Their Majesties King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark was marked by a dynamic Business Forum focused on our three strategic priorities: defense, health, and energy. 🔹 Defense: France and Denmark are reinforcing their cooperation with the announcement of the purchase of Mistral missiles. 🔹 Energy: A letter of intent was signed to deepen collaboration on renewable energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and district heating. 🔹 Health: In response to major social and demographic challenges, our two countries are strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the healthcare sector. As the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron emphasized, a stronger European sovereignty requires strategic investments in health, energy, and defense and greater market integration within the EU. With over 70 french and Danish companies gathered for this event, B2B exchanges were numerous and fruitful, demonstrating a shared ambition for a more resilient, autonomous, and sustainable Europe. 🇫🇷🇩🇰 Together, we build the future!

🇩🇰🤝🇫🇷 An exceptional moment for Franco-Danish cooperation in the arts and crafts! On April 1st, King Frederik X and Queen Mary visited the Mobilier National in Paris to witness the unveiling of two remarkable tapestries: 🔹 The Origin of the Future by Bjørn Nørgaard 🔹 God, Queen, Fatherland by Alexander Tovborg They also had the opportunity to admire Ruins by Tal R, unveiled in early March. These works are part of an extraordinary commission of 16 French tapestries that will soon join the Royal Collections of Denmark. They were woven in France’s prestigious national weaving workshops (Gobelins, Aubusson, Beauvais), a true recognition of French excellence in textile arts! During this visit, the Danish royal couple engaged with artists, weavers, and artisans, celebrating the strong cultural ties between our two countries. The French Navy's multi-mission frigate (FREMM) Auvergne made a stopover in Tórshavn, in the Faroe Islands 🇫🇴, from 18 to 22 March 2025. The Auvergne welcomed visits from schoolchildren, students and local residents, all of whom were enthusiastic about the opportunity to climb aboard a French warship. Local authorities were also welcomed, testifying to the links maintained with a territory that regularly welcomes French Navy vessels.   The presence of the Danish patrol vessel Triton also enabled bilateral military cooperation exercises to be carried out, including cross-visits and exercises. On the morning of 22 March, the Auvergne and the Triton carried out an EVOLEX followed by an ASSISTANEX. As part of these exercises, the Danish vessel simulated a large-scale fire, which the FREMM crew was called upon to help deal with. Several rotations enabled the necessary personnel and equipment to be dispatched, demonstrating the capacity for mutual aid and assistance. Cooperation between the two ships continued the next day, with a SURFEX and two joint firing exercises, also involving the Auvergne's Caïman Marine.   The sequence provided an opportunity to strengthen interoperability between the 🇫🇷 and 🇩🇰 navies, and to work in the archipelagic waters of Faroe Islands 🇫🇴 in sometimes very demanding weather conditions. Last week, Ambassador Christophe Parisot along with Michael Mocka and Marie-Anne Dejoan welcomed around twenty teachers from the AEFE - Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger to the Lycée Français Prins Henrik for a ‘History and Science’ training course. 👩🏫👨🏫 In his speech, the ambassador stressed the crucial role of teachers in stimulating pupils' scientific curiosity, combating misinformation and promoting the participation of women and girls in science. 🧬 ⚗️👩🔬 The Institut français Danmark is contributing to this training programme by facilitating their visit to the historic building of the Niels Bohr Institute, led by the @Niels Bohr Archive.💫 La semaine , l'Ambassadeur @Christophe Parisot accueillait, aux côtés de Michael Mocka Marie-Anne Dejoan au Lycée Français Prins Henrik - Copenhague une vingtaine d'enseignants et des formateurs de l'AEFE - Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger l'occasion d'une formation "Histoire et Sciences". Interesting discussions yesterday between Ambassador Christophe Parisot and heads of the Danish Trade Union Confederation Fagbevægelsens Hovedorganisation ; President Morten Skov Christiansen and Director Mads Reinholdt. It was an opportunity to discuss the 🇩🇰 social model and its successes - social dialogue, flexicurity, employment of seniors, well-being of the population, etc. Also an opportunity to talk about the many challenges facing Denmark, as in France: defence funding, pension reform, labour shortages and declining union membership. With the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU approaching, issues related to social Europe were also included.🇪🇺
