Is there a tag limit on twitter API?

my app tags people that I follow, but it keeps getting limited in write actions. so there must be a limit but I haven’t read anything about it on the twitter API docs and I’m sure the amount people that I am tagging is extremely small, so I was wondering how I can avoid getting my app limited. i even put a timer between each tag but it does not work.

If you are mentioning people in your Tweets, you need to be aware of the automation rules, and also the policy on unsolicited mentions. You should not post a lot of Tweets that mention or reply to users that have not directly engaged with your app.

I was wondering, if I own a second Twitter account and I frequently tag that account through my app (hence not unwanted or unauthorised tagging), would twitter block my app in that case too?

The issue is that the platform don’t necessarily know that one account knows the other, so the unsolicited mentions are likely to be picked up as problematic - I can’t say for certain.
