Thank you, for this post Yann! It's fantastic to see our common work out in the open now. It will hopefully accelerate the construction of electrification infrastructure in Africa by making it very easy for companies to find attractive sites and for governments to plan their country-wide electrification efforts!
Day 2 of the Mini Grid Action Learning Event showcased transformative tools like the M300+ DRE Planning Platform, which combines satellite imagery, AI, and ground data to identify mini-grid opportunities in 46 African countries. The platform analyzes population density, rooftop potential, and economic activity to prioritize projects, directly supporting Mission 300’s goal of electrifying 300 million people by 2030. Developed in collaboration between The World Bank, IFC - International Finance Corporation and ESMAP, this resource equips stakeholders with data to align decentralized energy solutions with national strategies.
