Forests are truly remarkable ecosystems: Every year, they absorb about 2 billion tons of CO2, acting as Earth’s natural climate regulators. They’re home to countless species, prevent soil erosion, and naturally manage our water cycles. Forests are also important sources of raw materials. We need paper for our adhesive tapes – as backing, as liner, for roll cores, and for our packaging. Responsible sourcing plays an essential role for us in this context, with reliable certificates of origin being crucial. The FSC® certification is exactly that: It ensures that resources come from exemplarily managed forests and other controlled sources. Since 2019, we have been sourcing resources from exemplarily managed FSC®-certified forests and other controlled sources. Meanwhile, 16 tesa sites are FSC®-certified (FSC® 148769). By the end of 2024, 72 products in our portfolio contained raw materials from FSC®-certified forests and other controlled sources. And we are aiming to increase the share of recycled and bio-based materials in all products to 70 percent and to reduce the use of non-recycled fossil-based plastic by half – this is a strategically important goal for tesa. Double success in Munich! 🏆 This week, tesa was not only awarded the #MMKAward2025 for our Debonding on Demand technology. Our paper-based adhesive tapes for corrugated and paperboard cartons also won the ICE Award in the Sustainability category at ICE Europe 2025! 🥇 The packaging and shipping of goods continue to rise – as does the demand for lightweight and sustainable packaging that still provides optimal protection. This is exactly where our tesa 51345 comes in: It reinforces cartons at sensitive points like side hole and flap handles, while also contributing to greater sustainability in the packaging industry. The tape is produced using a solvent-free coating process with a paper backing from sustainably managed sources and a core made from 100% recycled paper. And the best part: It can be disposed of together with the cardboard material without affecting the recycling process. Our commitment to sustainability is a central part of our strategy. By 2030, we aim to increase the share of recycled and bio-based materials in our products to 70% and reduce the use of non-recycled fossil-based plastics by half. This award recognizes our efforts towards sustainability and inspires us to continue developing innovative solutions for a more sustainable future. Thank you to our partners who support us on this journey and work alongside with us! Want to find out more about the winner products?
