Creating Value from Waste: Our Sustainability Journey ♻️💚 As we celebrate International Recycling Day on March 18, we would like to highlight how sustainability is woven into the fabric of our company’s operations. Did you know that 90% of our carbon footprint comes from traditional steel and aluminum production? That's why we've formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders like ArcelorMittal, thyssenkrupp Steel Europe, SSAB, Stegra, and SPEIRA to develop and implement CO2-reduced alternatives and recycled hot-forming steel for our manufacturing processes. We're also committed to closing the loop by recycling all steel and aluminum scrap generated within our facilities daily. Dr. Johannes F. Kirchhoff, CEO of KIRCHHOFF Ecotec (the KIRCHHOFF Group's waste collection vehicle division), has assumed the chairmanship of the BDI's "Circular Economy" initiative—driving forward better resource conservation practices across industries. KIRCHHOFF Automotive sets standards: First global product strategy workshop for instrument panel beams KIRCHHOFF Automotive has reached an important milestone in the development of one of its core products: the first global product strategy workshop for instrument panel beams and cross car beams took place in Attendorn (Germany). These highly complex components are developed entirely by our own engineering team. To ensure the future viability of the product, the product management team organized this international workshop. As part of the two-part workshop: - our global Research & Development team analyzed current market trends and design concepts, - developed a comprehensive product strategy with clear objectives - and defined standards for future projects. 💪 Strong #women at KIRCHHOFF Automotive - yesterday & today! 🚀 On #WorldWomensDay, we want to look not only at the strong women of today, but also at those who have shaped our company over the decades - women who have set new standards, driven innovation and changed our company for good. 🔵 The legacy of Lore Kirchhoff At a time when the business world was dominated by men, Lore Kirchhoff - the mother of our partners Arndt G., J. Wolfgang, Dr. Johannes F. and Eva Kirchhoff - showed foresight and left a lasting legacy with her talent. As an architect, she designed our administration building on Stefanstraße, Iserlohn in 1968/69 and drew up detailed plans on a scale of 1:50. Her daughter Eva, also an architect, carried out a comprehensive core refurbishment in 2001/2002 and is now responsible for the architecture of the #KIRCHHOFF Automotive sites worldwide. Our female colleagues are continuing this tradition and actively shaping the future of the #manufacturing industry. These women at KIRCHHOFF Automotive, among others, are making the difference today: 🏆 Missy Smith - is the first female plant manager at our North American site and has set new standards for women in production. 🏆 Wen Leyendecker - started as Project Director at KIRCHHOFF Automotive 20 years ago and is now Managing Director for the Chinese market. 🏆 Anna Szklarz - as Global Director for CSR & Sustainability, she manages our global sustainability strategy and promotes responsible business practices. We are strongly committed to an inclusive & diverse working world. 🤝 US-Governor visits Attendorn We were honored to welcome Brian Kemp, Governor of Georgia, to our KIRCHHOFF Automotive plant in Attendorn, Germany. During his visit, our leadership team including Dr. Jochen Luft (COO) and Dr. Heiko Engels (EVP Sales & Technical Development) engaged in meaningful discussions about growth opportunities in Georgia, Automotive market developments across North America, Asia, and Europe, and our production capabilities, showcased during a plant tour led by Dr. Manfred Ihne (VP Operations). ✅ Job fair in #Attendorn: 135+ talks. Full house. A mega success!   We were one of 76 exhibitors in the fully booked Attendorn town hall – the interest was enormous! More than 135 discussions with students, parents and teachers showed that many young talents are interested in a future at #KIRCHHOFF Automotive.   💬 But a big thank you goes to our #trainees! They made our stand a real focal point. Hannah Burbach, industrial clerk in her second year of training, said: “I think it's great that KIRCHHOFF Automotive is giving me the opportunity to gain such great experience as part of my training”.   Our trainer Vanessa Kolm also drew a positive conclusion. But we were particularly pleased about the spontaneous visit from our chairman of the advisory board Arndt G. Kirchhoff, who is particularly interested in training young talents and is always a welcome guest at our career fairs.   🚀 We are already looking forward to the next job fair! It's a remarkable career: Peter Rötte celebrates 40 years of employment! His inspiring career began as a welder and led him to the position of Head of Quality Assurance in Production. Peter's path is an excellent example of continuous professional development. Through numerous training courses in quality management, FMEA and leadership skills, he has actively helped shape the digital transformation of quality assurance - from manual component testing to the implementation of state-of-the-art CAQ systems. His commitment above and beyond his regular duties is particularly noteworthy: as Quality Coordinator, he played a key role in shaping the development of our QA department and is still involved in test equipment monitoring during his passive semi-retirement. Another sign of his commitment to sustainability: the bird boxes he initiated on our premises in Iserlohn, which he looks after together with his wife. Peter's motto “Never boring, always challenging” perfectly reflects the dynamic development of our industry.
