The Submodel template (#SMT) “IDTA 02015-2-0 Control Component Type” aims to establish a template for the development of manufacturer- and domain-independent control concepts and to facilitate the exchange of process information with other #Submodels. Additionally, it allows the use of #standardized call and monitoring sequences, as well as standardized description of its services, endpoints, error-codes, etc. The Control Component concept supports the engineering, deployment and orchestration of service-based and component-oriented industry 4.0 #automation solutions. Here, a “component” means a modular, replaceable part of a system with defined interfaces — for example, a machine, a module, or a software function block (per IEV 741-01-11). The document outlines two use cases for how control components can be orchestrated. These are based on the following principles: ✅ Service-oriented architecture: Production resources (like machines or robots) provide their functions (skills) via network interfaces. ✅ Orchestration: To produce a product, the right skills must be triggered at the right time with the right parameters. ✅ Procedures: These sequences of skill calls (called service calls in MTP) are planned during an engineering phase and executed later, usually triggered by a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). ✅ BPMN: The procedures are visualized using BPMN (Business Process Modeling and Notation), a standard by the OMG (Object Management Group). Other procedure formats like Sequential Function Charts can also be used. A week at HANNOVER MESSE 2025 went by quickly, and we are pleased to look back on a successful and productive trade show for the Asset Administration Shell (#AAS), the standardization of the Digital Twin, the #DAVID project, and the #IDTA. We had many insightful conversations and greatly valued the opportunity to engage with our community and numerous interested visitors at our booth. Here are some key highlights: ✅ The #AASGuide featured 51 exhibits across #HannoverMesse, offering a broad overview of different applications and implementations of the AAS. Numerous presentations on various stages highlighted how the AAS is being applied across industries and customized for specific use cases. Explore the exhibits and the stage program in the digital AAS Guide here: https://lnkd.in/es5d7S8q ✅ The demonstrator “AAS Components used for Collaborative Engineering,” developed by Eplan in collaboration with Bosch Rexroth, Festo, HARTING Technology Group, Mitsubishi Electric, Lenze, Phoenix Contact, Rittal GmbH & Co. KG, Siemens, SICK, and WAGO, showcased how the AAS supports consistent data management throughout the engineering process of control cabinets and machines. More details on the use case are available on the IDTA website: https://lnkd.in/eK6YC2vx ✅ 13 co-exhibitors at the IDTA booth presented their individual market-ready AAS solutions. All of them are pleased to provide information. Please visit their websites or LinkedIn profile: CADENAS GmbH, Class.Ing Ingenieur-Partnerschaft, conplement AG, D&TS GmbH, Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, INTERX, M&M Software GmbH, Meta-Level Software AG, Müller Manufacturing Consulting, Neoception GmbH, objective partner, PTC, and XITASO. ✅ As part of the #DAVID project, we showed how the AAS contributes to establishing an open data ecosystem within the Manufacturing-X framework at the joint booth of Plattform Industrie 4.0. For more information contact info@idtwin.org. ✅ The AAS C-Level Meeting once again brought together decision-makers from an IDTA working group to review progress and align on engineering and service-related use cases. Learn more in the press release from Hannover Messe 2024: https://lnkd.in/eZdVSeAN ✅ At the #IDTA booth, IDTA members conplement AG and R. STAHL Group signed a letter of intent to jointly advance Digital Twin solutions based on the AAS and to offer integrated consulting services for industrial partners. It was a pleasure to connect with so many experts and stakeholders across the industry. Many thanks to all visitors, co-exhibitors, and the IDTA network. It was a fantastic week! #DigitalTwin
