What does it take to design spaces where innovation truly happens? In his essay „Der Innovation Raum geben“ (Creating Spaces for Innovation), Gunter Henn considers how architecture shapes the intersection of innovation, production, and people. He sees architecture as having the task of strategically arranging real space so that areas can interact with each other, perspectives and ways of thinking can meet and innovations can be created. „Traumfabriken“ (Dream factories) examines the architecture and design of innovative production sites in the DACH region, exploring how spaces can foster creativity, collaboration, and technological advancement. It presents a range of manufacturing projects, including our projects Wittenstein Innovation Factory (WITTENSTEIN group), Brunner Innovation Factory (Brunner Group),and Mercedes-Benz Factory 56 (Mercedes-Benz Deutschland ). The winners of the AKG Prize 2025 were decided on last Friday at the jury meeting. Among the five-member jury was Marcus Fissan, Managing Director of Science and Healthcare at HENN, who has been leading numerous major hospital projects in Germany. He was invited to join the jury in recognition of his expertise.   Congratulations to the AKG Prize 2025 awardee tsj-architekten for their project Fachkrankenhaus für die Seele | Klinikum Wahrendorf Sehnde, and the four awardees who will receive a recognition. The prize by Architekten für Krankenhausbau und Gesundheitswesen e.V. (AKG) recognizes outstanding contributions to the architecture of hospital construction or healthcare, in which the diverse requirements for building quality, functionality and attention to detail have been solved in an exemplary manner. The first milestone in the transformation of Braunschweig Municipal Hospital (Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig gGmbH) has been reached: the new build east of the clinic complex has been completed and has welcomed its first patients. After its completion in 2027, the new central clinic of Braunschweig Municipal Hospital will include an existing hospital building, the new east building, which is a redesigned shell structure, and a new addition, which is currently under construction. In collaboration with C.F. Møller Architects, we will create one of the largest hospitals in Germany – a state-of-the-art complex that provides efficient health care and is a pleasant place to work. We were awarded the contract for the new construction of the Center for Robotics at Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (Technische Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS)).   A new campus is gradually being built on the outskirts of Schweinfurt for the THWS. One of its core elements is the new Center for Robotics (CERI) dedicated to research into and development of intelligent robotic systems. Our design combines laboratories and workshops for robotics and mechatronics in a single building, strengthening the city of Schweinfurt’s role as a driver of innovation and a unique location in Germany for robotics.   More information on the project: https://lnkd.in/dSnyPsF8

Together with C.F. Møller Architects, we won the competition for the Hanover Medical School Hospital (Medizinische Hochschule Hannover). Hanover Medical School ranks among the top German medical universities in terms of its research profile. At the same time, it provides comprehensive healthcare services to the people of Hanover and beyond. Our design, which extends the university's existing site, establishes a highly efficient and sustainable healthcare campus with a pleasant atmosphere.
