Girls’ Day 2025 at Hemoteq AG 👩🔬 Yesterday 10 schoolgirls from the Aachen area got a look behind the scenes at the exciting world of medical coatings for balloon catheters! From visiting our clean room production lines and analytical labs to building an injection pump mechanism, they experienced science and technology first hand 🧪 🪛 It was a day of discovery and inspiration. Congratulations to the whole cross-functional team who has worked passionately to accomplish this achievement. This innovation improves the lives of millions of patients suffering cardiovascular disease who are our daily motivation for what we do. Excellent work by the team Flexseal from Freudenberg Medical, who presented an innovative hemostatic introducer designed to minimize blood loss in minimally invasive procedures. Change of CEO at Hemoteq AG We would like to inform you that there will be a change of leadership at Hemoteq AG on the 1st of January 2025. Michael Hoffmann Ph.D., company founder and shareholder, will end his mandate as CEO at the end of 2024. With the departure of Dr. Michael Hoffmann, Dr. Peter Hackenschmied, CTO and member of the Executive Board since January 2023, will take over the CEO position. Hemoteq AG was founded in 1999 by Roland Horres (in memoriam) and Dr. Michael Hoffmann as spin-off company from the RWTH Aachen University. In 2015, Hemoteq AG became part of Freudenberg Medical through a majority acquisition. Today the company employs over 320 associates and is a leading contract development and contract manufacturing organization (CDMO) for device drug combination products (DDCP), specialty coated medical devices and components. Hemoteq AG is a pioneer and market leader in the innovative field of drug eluting stents and drug coated balloon catheters. The leadership transition will be seamless as Dr. Hackenschmied joined Hemoteq AG as CTO two years ago. Dr. Hackenschmied brings over 25 years of MedTech and leadership experience and has worked at Siemens Healthineers AG as Senior VP and Head of Technology Center for components for CT and Angiography Imaging Systems where he successfully built out their global OEM business. He has also lived in Japan and successfully led the integration of Acrorad Co. Ltd, a Japanese semiconductor company, and later as VP and COO the post-merger. A heartfelt thank you to Michael Hoffmann Ph.D. for all the hard work and dedication during the past 25 years.
