FIT Additive Manufacturing Group extends EN 9100 scope to include Deconstruction! A move that marks nothing less than the opening of a new chapter in industrial manufacturing. In March 2025, FIT AG became the first company in Europe to receive EN 9100 certification for the inclusion of the Deconstruction process within its quality management system. This achievement is the result of four years of focused research and industrial implementation, driven by the BROLIGHT project (BROken LIGHT), conducted in collaboration with Technische Universität München and Fraunhofer IGD ( Darmstadt). The project developed a method to algorithmically distort Hilbert spaces in order to manipulate triangle-based geometries. Combined with additive manufacturing, the result is mirror objects that interact with their environment in novel structural, visual, and energetic ways. This makes deconstruction not only technically tangible, but also qualifiable and certifiable according to aerospace standards. My sincere thanks go to our outstanding team and to our partner Hagen Hoch of TQC-Management GmbH, who helped us design and implement an audit process that even the experienced auditors of TÜV NORD CERT described as uncharted territory – successfully mastered. “Deconstruction is not dismantling. It is a strategic step forward.” – Clear words from Lars Langhans, Head of Aerospace & Defense at FIT AG. #FITAG #Dekonstruktion #EN9100 #AdditiveFertigung #Zertifizierung #Aerospace #Qualität #BROLIGHT #Innovation #Hilbertraum #TUM #FraunhoferIGD #TQC #TÜVNORD
