What a night at SF Climate Week 2025! 🌿 Last night, Carbonfuture, Carbon Business Council, ClimeFi, Isometric, NextGen CDR, and XPRIZE brought together over 100 carbon removal leaders—from suppliers and corporate buyers to policymakers, investors, and industry leaders. Hosted at Swissnex in San Francisco and emceed by Leila Toplic, Chief Communications & Trust Officer at Carbonfuture, the evening underscored a clear takeaway: Carbon removal is gaining momentum—and scaling it will require demand, policy, and innovation working in sync. 🔹 Ben Rubin (Carbon Business Council) opened with a pulse check on the market, sharing the momentum across supply, demand, and policy. 🔹 Rachel Shepherd (California Energy Commission) shared how California is helping scale CDR across the state—and beyond. Combining policy, investment, and public procurement. 🔹 Michael Berger (Microsoft) offered a buyer’s perspective on what corporate leadership on carbon removal looks like: removing emissions now and investing at scale to help build the foundation for a functioning CDR market and ensure that we have the supply to meet our climate goals. 🌏 A major highlight: Carbonfuture announced an exclusive dMRV partnership with Biomass Projects in Australia—set to become one of the world’s largest biochar carbon removal initiatives. Powered by Carbonfuture MRV+, the project will remove over 500,000 tonnes of CO2 annually by 2028, transforming invasive mesquite into durable carbon removal while supporting ecosystem restoration and Indigenous-led land stewardship. Read more: https://lnkd.in/emdUa9BX Big thanks to Swissnex for hosting, to our co-hosts for their collaboration—and to everyone in the room for helping scale carbon removal. One attendee summed it up best: “It was great to take a moment to celebrate collective progress and connect with those building the CDR market.” Were you there? What stood out to you most? 👇 #SFClimateWeek #CDR #ClimateAction #CarbonRemoval #NetZero #SFCW

🚨 Major Partnership Anouncement: Carbonfuture MRV+ to Track Australia’s Landmark Biochar Carbon Removal Project at Half a Million Tonnes Annually We’re excited to announce an exclusive dMRV partnership with @Biomass Projects - set to become one of the largest biochar carbon removal (BCR) projects globally. Located in Western Australia, the Mardie Project will transform invasive mesquite into BCR, delivering over 500,000 tonnes of durable carbon removal annually by 2028.    Why this matters:  🔹 Digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) at scale: This project represents a full-fledged deployment of digital MRV, capturing the vast data needed to meet certification requirements. Carbonfuture MRV+ provides rigorous due diligence and precise tracking, seamlessly facilitating third-party verification and certification—helping Biomass Projects streamline complexity, accelerate credit issuance, and meet buyer expectations with confidence.    🔹 Environmental and cultural co-benefits: The removal of invasive mesquite restores native ecosystems and raises the water table, while also enabling Traditional Owners to return to and care for culturally significant lands. The project unites climate action with ecological and cultural restoration. 🔹 Australia as a strategic climate hub: Australia has enormous biomass potential and offers long-term certainty and stability for corporate buyers. The Mardie Project delivers a reliable and scalable solution aligned with corporate net-zero goals. This partnership shows what’s possible when rigorous digital MRV meets on-the-ground climate action—delivering carbon removal at scale, with integrity and local impact.    🔗 Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gymMNyqh    #CarbonRemoval #Biochar #BCR #CDR #ClimateAction #dMRV #Sustainability #NetZero

🌍 How do early-stage carbon removal startups stand out — and earn buyer trust — in a crowded market? Founded by former SpaceX engineers, Clairity Technology is hard at work building the first integrated Direct Air Capture (DAC) project in the US. With an innovative approach to DAC that utilizes low-cost carbonate salts, only requires oven-level heat, and generates water as a byproduct, Clairity has a unique approach and a bold goal: remove 10 million tonnes of CO₂ in the next decade. 💡 But in a dynamic market packed with good ideas, innovative technologies aren’t a guarantee to stand out. That’s why Clairity partnered with Carbonfuture to integrate independent digital MRV from project inception.  With Carbonfuture MRV+, Clairity ensures that every tonne of CO₂ removed is tracked and independently verified — laying the foundation for real climate impact and buyer trust. 📘 Friday read: Learn more about Clairity’s plans to scale and how Carbonfuture is helping them with the tools they need to connect with buyers: https://lnkd.in/eB-uRdgt #CarbonRemoval #DirectAirCapture #DAC #MRV #CDR #NetZero #ClimateTech #Sustainability
