Recover™ launches Vietnam recycling plant with Illies Engineering Vietnam as key market partner Global textile recycling leader Recover is proud to announce its expansion into Vietnam, marking a significant milestone in circularity and sustainability for the textile industry. The partnership with Illies Engineering Vietnam (IEV) focuses on accelerating Recover’s entry into Vietnam’s textile market - the third largest globally - by leveraging IEV’s extensive network and expertise to connect Recover’s innovative recycled materials with key players in the industry. “Partnering with Recover represents a remarkable extension of Illies’ recycling portfolio,” said Christoph Peters, General Director of Illies Engineering Vietnam. “Recover provides the essential link to ensure the future of circularity in the textile industry.” Pioneering Recycling Facility in Vietnam The plant, located in Dong Nai province, will commence operations in early 2025 with two advanced recycling lines and an initial capacity of 10,000 metric tons annually. It will specialize in RMix, Recover’s proprietary recycled cotton-polyester blend, which addresses the industry’s challenge of recycling natural-synthetic fiber blends without separation. “This expansion is crucial,” said Recover CEO Anders Sjöblom. “By bringing advanced technology to Vietnam, we’re fostering a shift towards circularity.” Focus on Sustainability and Local Impact Strategically positioned near waste sorting and manufacturing activities, the facility minimizes transportation costs and environmental impact. Successful ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024 Textile Machinery Exhibition for the ILLIES Group Together with its key textile machinery partners — Karl Mayer, Oerlikon, itema, and Terrot — the ILLIES Group successfully exhibited at the ITMA ASIA and CITME 2024 textile machinery fair in Shanghai, P.R. China from October 14 to 18th, 2024. Karl Mayer The Karl Mayer Group, under the theme of “Master the Change, Profitable. Flexible, Sustainable” showcased its latest technologies and solutions. Concurrent with the exhibition, Karl Mayer China hosted an Inhouse Exhibition in their Changzhou factory. A major highlight, besides the numerous Karl Mayer machinery on display, was the launch of the new Karl Mayer showroom, which displayed advanced solutions in multiple technical areas and a variety of innovative warp knitting applications, as well as the latest trends in textiles. Oerlikon In response to the current industry's challenges, the Oerlikon Group focused on its technology leading, energy-efficient and sustainable high performance solutions, increasing productivity and ensuring material quality, as well as traceability of all products to enable recycling of materials used in a future-oriented circular economy. itema The cutting-edge weaving technologies highlighted at the itema booth included the GalileoRX rapier weaving machine — in 2300 mm weaving width — and the high-performance projectile P7300HP V8 in 3900 mm weaving width. Further Itema weaving machines were displayed at several partner booths. Terrot (Santoni Group) Terrot presented its UCC 572-T high-feeder transfer jacquard circular knitting machine for sports and leisurewear in fine gauges. The integration of Terrot into the Santoni Group last year, further solidified its leadership in circular knitting large diameter machinery, particularly for double jersey and jacquard. The next ITMA ASIA exhibition will be from October 28th to 31st, 2025 at the Singapore Exhibition Center and will present significant market opportunities for all attendees, with special focus on the Southeast Asian region.
