  • What can early metazoans teach us about the origins of cell type diversity? We are pleased to announce the next session of our Lunch Talk Series, co-hosted by BioMed X Institute and the DKFZ Postdoc Network (PDN), with generous support from DKFZ German Cancer Research Center. 🧬 Speaker: Dr. Arnau Sebé-Pedrós 🗓 Date: Thursday, April 24, 2025 🕚 Time: 11:00 AM 📍 Location: DKFZ Communication Center, Im Neuenheimer Feld 280, Heidelberg Dr. Sebé-Pedrós, Associate Faculty at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, will present: “Early metazoan cell type diversity, evolution, and regulation” His research investigates how a single genome gives rise to diverse cell types and explores the evolution of gene regulatory mechanisms in early-branching animals. The talk will highlight recent findings on neuronal gene expression programs and the architecture of regulatory networks in basal metazoans—offering new perspectives on the evolution of multicellularity. We look forward to welcoming you to an insightful session at the intersection of evolutionary biology, genomics, and cellular regulation. #LunchTalkSeries #BioMedX #DKFZ #EvolutionaryBiology #RegulatoryGenomics #CellTypeDiversity #ResearchSeminar #LifeSciences #AcademicEvents #ResearchCollaboration
