🌍 World of Modular 2025: Fully passionate people & the future of construction. That’s #WOM25 in a nutshell. Held from April 7–10 in Las Vegas, this year’s event once again proved why it’s the leading global platform for modular construction. With attendees from 32 countries, nearly 2,000 participants, and 225+ exhibitors, WOM is more than a conference - it’s a growing movement. Proudly representing ARDEX at our booth and throughout the event, our strong five-person team - Nikos Stavroulakis and I from Europe, Mike Sevak , MBA and Michael Frey from the Americas, and Jan-Philipp Wagner located in Asia - reflected not only the global relevance of modular construction, but also our commitment to this sector. Together, we’re developing and delivering innovative products and systems tailored for offsite applications - empowering more efficient and sustainable interior finishing processes. 🔗 WOM is about networking, yes - but equally about learning. And learning is at the core of innovation. What struck me once again was the open culture and collaborative mindset across this community. 🚀 Modular construction in the U.S. accounts for around 7% of the industry- but its momentum is undeniable. Especially in multifamily housing, but increasingly in other sectors too. WOM 25 showed: 📈 Continued growth in attendance (+25% over the past 3 years) 🧩 A broader and more diverse ecosystem, including architects, students, and future design/engineering professionals 🏗️ Inspiring case studies and a technical track focused on real-world implementation Big thanks to the Modular Building Institute for organizing such a forward-looking event. 📅 Next stop: WOM Europe in Madrid, October 6-8. We are pleased to announce that on the 3 December 2024 ARDEX Oceania HQ was officially opened in the presence of dignitaries, honoured guests and property partners: Frasers Property Industrial, Barings and Aware Real Estate. A smoking ceremony was a respectful and spiritual experience for staff as Graham Kirrpatja, Board Member of Deerubbin Local Aboriginal Land Council, shared an ancient song and its meaning before engaging in the entire audience to participate in the performance of the song. Guests were blessed with a eucalyptus branch brushed with the sacred smoke. Dignitaries included Todd Carney, His Worship the Mayor of Penrith and Tanya Davies MP, Member for Badgerys Creek and Shadow Assistant Minister for Jobs and Small Business. Sustainability is becoming more and more important for us at ARDEX, and for our customers and the entire industry. In 2022, ARDEX introduced a new label called “ecobuild TECHNOLOGY”. The goal of this label is to offer our customers an easy way to identify products that meet important sustainability criteria and are therefore particularly sustainable. The assessment criteria are assigned to three categories; healthy living, environment and resources and technical performance. In the healthy living category, building certifications and indoor air quality of a product are taken into consideration. In the area of environment and resources, CO2 emissions, recyclability and supply chain conditions are checked among other things. And the technical performance makes itself felt in terms of test criteria such as the yield of the product, packaging, as well as application safety and comfort. Only products that are holistically sustainable and meet the highest applicable standards receive the ecobuild TECHNOLOGY label. Which means that it is not enough if only individual values are met, a product have to be above average overall to achieve good results and perform better overall than comparable ARDEX products. The first product to carry the label is the wall-rendering compound ARDEX A 828 COMFORT from ARDEX Germany. “Sustainability has been a high priority at ARDEX for years. Thus, very many of our products are already particularly low-emission and environmentally friendly”, says Dr. Hubert Motzet, Managing Director Research & Development and responsible for sustainability topics. “In Germany alone, more than 96 percent of our products are classified as very low emission.” The new ecobuild TECHNOLOGY label is intended to provide better orientation in terms of sustainability.
