💗 Shakira, is my absolute favorite singer. My friends and I have been listening to her music since she released her first hit “¿Dónde estás corazón?” We listened to her cassette over and over until the magnetic tape became brittle and broke. 📼 Years passed and I had the opportunity of a lifetime to attend her concert in Barranquilla (her hometown). I have never seen such a congregation of people of all ages: parents, grandparents and kids gathered to celebrate 🙌🏾 her epic career. During the concert, one could hear the voices of kids joyfully screaming: “Pies🦶 descalzos”. Shakira had paid for tickets and the transportation for 4000 children from "Fundación Pies Descalzos (Foundation Barefoot -Eng.-)" to attend her concert. That night in Barranquilla, during her unmatched performance, I promised myself that I would visit her foundation and contribute in whatever form I can. I still have a visit pending to Barranquilla and the Barefoot Foundation. During the time spent in #Barranquilla I spoke to the local residents, aware of the commotion caused by the superstar's concert, the opinions were unanimous. Shakira and her family are down to earth, and have been helping marginalized communities since the 90’s.
