We’re glad to announce the publication of our latest study: “Comparative Assessment of Recycling Technologies and Methods for Low-Value Plastic (LVP) Waste: Feasibility Study”, funded by the Subnational Climate Fund (SCF) . This study is the result of a collaborative effort between Ambire Global, Carbon Turnaround, and Mochamad Satya Oktamalandi and team. The study sheds light on a critical insight: the primary challenge in managing plastic waste lies not in the recycling process itself but in the collection stage, creating significant barriers to material recovery, especially in areas without formal and robust waste management systems. It also emphasizes that open-loop recycling can serve as an effective “bridging technology” in the short to medium term, offering practical solutions for managing LVP waste while advancing toward more sustainable systems. 📘 Read the full study here: https://lnkd.in/ePsqT9MC We hope this contributes to the global conversation on innovative approaches to tackling plastic waste and driving sustainability forward. 🌍♻️ #RecyclingInnovation #LowValuePlastics #SustainableWasteManagement #CircularEconomy María Alejandra Rojas García Sonia Gallo-Murcia Aditi Ramola Herwig Andreas Ragossnig Arne M. Ambire Global is proud to support Climate Bonds Initiative and IFC - International Finance Corporation in the development of Cambodia’s Taxonomy. Congratulations to the teams at CBI and IFC on the successful stakeholder consultation workshop held this week in Phnom Penh. Robust and inclusive stakeholder engagement is essential to developing a credible, usable, and interoperable taxonomy that can support Cambodia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
📊 # Cambodia needs an additional $36 billion in investments by 2050 to achieve carbon neutrality. The financial sector plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges by mobilizing capital towards sustainable projects, driving the transition to a low-carbon economy and supporting the development of climate-resilient infrastructure. To achieve this ambitious goal, IFC - International Finance Corporation is currently supporting the National Bank of Cambodia in developing a well-defined and structured taxonomy which classifies what economic activities can be considered as green and sustainable. This week, we conducted the consultation workshop on Draft Cambodia Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, discussing feedback and inputs with over 200 participants. The majority of attendees were representatives of financial institutions, along with regulators and policy makers, investors, corporates, business associations, development partners, and national and international organizations. 🌱 Elvira Morella, Thomas Jacobs, Towfiqua Hoque
