  • **Recruitment fraud warning** Recent incidents have occurred involving individuals and organisations falsely claiming to recruit on behalf of CNOOC International. Using unsolicited emails, online recruitment services such as LinkedIn, fake websites, and text messages offering the promise of job opportunities, those who conduct this type of fraud aim to obtain personal information or money. We remind everyone to be vigilant regarding job seeking and look out for warning signs of fraudulent recruitment. CNOOC International will NEVER: - Request money (e.g. for visa fees, taxes, travel expenses). - Request candidates pay for training courses prior to being hired. - Request personal information such as passport and bank account details early in the recruitment process. - Send emails from free web-based email accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail or Live.com. - Use mobile (cell) phone numbers, rather than office numbers. - Insist on urgency to secure a job vacancy. - Use poorly formatted documentation or make significant grammar and spelling mistakes. We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited offers of employment from people claiming to work for or be affiliated with CNOOC International.

  • An annual highlight in CNOOC’s calendar, we were delighted to once again welcome Friends of ANCHOR and their BRAVE models as they rehearsed for this year’s fundraiser fashion show. Opening up our office in Aberdeen, Scotland, a team of CNOOC volunteers were on hand to serve refreshments and cheer the models on as they practiced their catwalk. Having received a sneak peak of the talented team’s moves, we can’t wait to attend the BRAVE event later in the year! 👏

CNOOC recently participated in the 39th annual Syncrude Food Drive campaign and Corporate Challenge, which raises donations for the Wood Buffalo Food Bank during the holiday season. The Wood Buffalo Food Bank supports the fight against hunger in the communities in and around our Long Lake operations in Alberta, Canada, currently serving over 18,000 people in the Wood Buffalo region. CNOOC’s collective contributions to the campaign totaled $19,000! The campaign raised $260,994 and collected 38,413 pounds of food items for the Food Bank. Jifeng Liang, GM – Long Lake Oil Sands, and Crissy Stannard, Sr Executive Assistant – Operations (pictured) called in to pledge our donation. “CNOOC’s donation to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank represents our dedication to helping our communities," says Jifeng. "Our support not only helps address food insecurity but also demonstrates the power of collective action in making a tangible difference." CNOOC also contributes annually to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry Program, which delivers food items to those in need living in rural communities who have little or no access to transportation or grocery stores. CNOOC International's Long Lake site in Alberta, Canada was bustling with excitement during this year’s "Bring Your Kids to Work Day” program in November. We welcomed 15 children of our team members at Long Lake to participate in this full-day event at our site. It was a unique opportunity for these students to explore the world of energy production up close, as well as gain an appreciation for our industry! They attended toolbox talks, meetings, toured the site (which included stops at the fire hall and maintenance shop) and had the opportunity to shadow their parents, observing their day-to-day responsibilities and understanding more about the vital roles they play. It was a moment of pride for many staff members, as their children saw firsthand the contributions they make to CNOOC! “I had the privilege of touring the kids around our plant and sharing insights about our Long Lake facility,” says Eric Tang, Deputy GM – Long Lake Oil Sands. “It was an amazing experience to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm amongst the next generation!” Thank you to our staff members who made the day so enjoyable for the students!

Celebrations have been held on board the Golden Eagle offshore platform to recognise ten years of production. Discovered in 2007, approximately 110 km northeast of Aberdeen, Golden Eagle was expected to produce approximately 140 million barrels of oil. The £2.3 billion development progressed from discovery to production in less than eight years and first oil was achieved on 01 November 2014. At its peak, Golden Eagle was producing approximately 77,000 barrels of oil per day. Ten years later, continued development and a focus on safe and sustainable operations, has seen Golden Eagle produce more than 145 million barrels of oil equivalent. Mr. Pan Yiyong, Managing Director for CNOOC International’s UK North Sea business, said, “We’re delighted to recognise this important milestone and celebrate Golden Eagle’s significant contribution to the UK energy industry over the past ten years. As Operator of the Golden Eagle platform and on behalf of our co-venture partners, we thank the many people past and present who have supported the asset and been instrumental to Golden Eagle’s success.”

We were delighted to welcome Jamie Smith from Cash for Kids North East Scotland for CNOOC’s Halloween Big Breakfast. Bringing some spooky fun to our Aberdeen office, we used the event to raise funds for Cash for Kids’ Winter Warmer appeal.   Demonstrating kindness and a willingness to help others, our workforce donated £950, all of which will help to ensure children across the northeast of Scotland have access to warm clothing this winter. Thank you to our workforce for your generous donations!

Taking time out for World Mental Health Day, we encouraged our people in Aberdeen and Uxbridge to step away from their desks for coffee, cake, and a chat with colleagues. Providing fun prompts to help get the conversation started, there was plenty of discussion around favourite breakfast cereals, go-to karaoke songs, and the most used emoji on your mobile phone!   As the saying from a famous UK advertising campaign goes, “it’s good to talk”. #WorldMentalHealthDay
