✨What a day!✍️ We were thrilled to host our Writing Workshop this week, and even more thrilled to see 115 participants join us for a deep dive into the art (and science!) of writing clear, compelling proposals. A huge thank you to Prof. Michel Rickhaus for kicking things off with insights on getting past the blank page and setting the tone for productive writing. And to Dr. Anna Protopopova, who brought clarity and structure to the stage with her talk on “writing your point.” The energy, the questions, the shared concerns and breakthroughs... it was everything a writing space should be.💭🧠📚 Until next time, keep writing your point and telling your story with purpose.

Our aim is to make young chemists aware of the programs, opportunities and events relevant to them across Switzerland!
Info
The Swiss Young Chemists (young SCS) of the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) is a network of young researchers (aged under 35) in all areas of chemistry. SYCA has around 400 members. The idea of the young SCS is to bring together young chemists within the SCS framework. We want to connect chemists, academic and industrial partners and the general public. The group is open for all individuals who want to be involved, informed and promote young SCS activities and young chemists. Our aim is to make young chemists aware of the programs, opportunities and events relevant to them across Switzerland and to receive feedback from our members. In particular, we will share relevant information from young SCS /SCS committees/divisions/programs. Where do you see chemistry?👀 Spring is here, and nature is blooming in the most magical ways! This stunning shot captures the mesmerizing strings of glow worms. These tiny wonders create their own light through bioluminescence, lighting up a dark cave in New Zealand with an otherworldly glow. But here’s a fun fact: glow worms aren’t actually worms, and a chemical reaction causes the glowing light they emit! Curious to learn more about this enchanting process? Last week, representatives from youngSCS attended the Frühjahrssymposium 2025 (March 12-15) in Münster, Germany. This fantastic event, organized by the JungesChemieForum (JCF) der Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker e.V. (GDCh), the youth organization of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and our equivalent in Germany, was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, foster collaborations, and engage with the broader European chemistry community. We were delighted to have the opportunity of presenting a poster showcasing the work of youngSCS in Switzerland and our various activities. A huge thank you to JCF for their warm welcome and hospitality, we truly appreciate this ongoing collaboration! 🤝✨ We are looking forward to continue strengthening our international connections and working together to support young chemists across Europe. Stay tuned for more exciting initiatives! 📸Check out some highlights from the symposium featuring representatives from both youngSCS and JCF!

And that's a wrap! 🌟 Last week's JungesChemieForum (JCF) der Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker e.V. (GDCh) Spring Symposium in Münster was, once again, filled with incredibly talented young researchers, inspiring talks and ample opportunities for networking and seeing old friends! This year marked my first time attending as a member of the JCF National Board, where I had the pleasure of welcoming our guests from varying European Chemical Societies, like the youngSCS or young Physical Chemists, our Delegates to the European Young Chemists' Network (EYCN) and International Younger Chemists Network (IYCN) as well as strengthening the International Collaborations of the JCF. I also had the honor of awarding our Joint Poster Prize, together with the SCI Giovani. Once again, Congratulations to the Winner! Thank you to all the organizers, speakers, and attendees who made this event so special! I look forward to seeing all of you again next year in Cologne, the city of Carnival! 🎉 #Networking #Science #Chemistry #SpringSymposium #GDCh #JCF
