#Plastic, made from #fossilfuels, contributes to #globalwarming and lingers for centuries. We produce enough plastic each year to match the weight of the entire global population – yet we only recycle 9%. Circular #fashion is about designing with the entire lifecycle in mind. As Paola DEDA (Director of the UNECE Forests, Land and Housing Division and Chair of the UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion) highlighted at the #InternationalDayofZeroWaste celebration, #forests and #wood-based fibers play a crucial role in this approach. These #renewable, biodegradable materials can be reused, recycled, and upcycled, helping to #ClosetheLoop in fashion.
