In a recent article, Cecilia Corral, 2025 Social Entrepreneur of the Year and Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of CareMessage shared "Five things you need to know to successfully create technology that can make a positive social impact”: 1. Understand the Problem: Elevate the voices of those affected by the issue. Incorporating their lived experiences can reshape your approach. 2. Fall in Love with the Problem and Not the Solution**: Stay focused on addressing the real problem rather than forcing solutions that may not align. 3. Validate Your Impact: Measure whether your solution is effective and truly driving the desired change, especially in fields like healthcare. 4. Be Honest About What Is and Is Not Working: Transparency with your data will allow you to learn, grow, and iterate towards better solutions. 5. Remain Persistent, It’s a Long Road: Social change is a long journey. It requires sustained effort to navigate complex inequities that have existed for generations. Remember, the seeds we plant may grow into trees long after we’re gone. What would you add to the list? Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eFaTy2BD #SocialImpact #TechForGood #SocialInnovation

I had the honor 2 weeks ago to attend Harvard Kennedy School to immerse myself in learning how to be a better leader and how to scale our impact and our innovations faster to reach more people. I have been in the trenches of building LifeBank for years and it meant so much to me to go to school to retool and prepare myself for our next phase of growth. I am so thankful to my class mates, our teachers, and the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship for this amazing opportunity. My class mates are world class mission aligned leaders, and I was so fortunate to get to learn from them. Thrilled to use all these tools to build a truly mission focused juggernaut.

Today is publication date for my sixth book, "Everyday Habits for Transforming Systems: The Catalytic Power of Radical Engagement.” 🎉 As I say in the Introduction, "I was used to thinking about systems transformation in terms of exceptional, compressed, high-level, elegant, heroic, macro efforts. But Trevor Manuel [a South African activist, politician, and businessman] had spoken about it to me in terms of everyday, extended, on-the-ground, messy, collective, micro conversations. I realized that systems transformation looks different to a peripheral observer and facilitator like me as compared to a central protagonist like him. This is when I started to wonder about everyday habits for transforming systems, and to realize that I needed to write this book—not only for others but for myself." I wrote about this subject that I didn't understand, by talking with tens of brilliant "systems transformers" around the world (starting with this conversation with Trevor), and also by engaging with 300+ friends and colleagues here on LinkedIn (all of you acknowledged by name in the book). Thank you all! 🙏 And: approximately 10,000 new books are published every day in the US alone, which makes it hard for a new one to get noticed. You would help this book a lot if you would post about it on your social media: here is the book page you can link to (https://lnkd.in/dqmsxYkr) and here is a LinkedIn post that you can repost (https://lnkd.in/dky7jDhR). Please also leave a review on Amazon (https://lnkd.in/dukH2fPB) and Goodreads (https://lnkd.in/dgmKgrpE), as potential readers pay attention to these sites.
