📣 SAI Platform was delighted to participate in the discussion on how to scale regenerative practices at this year's Regenerative Agriculture Summit in Chicago this week. 🌱 Our Climate Strategist, Ying Wang moderated a panel with Casey McCausland, owner of McCausland Farms, Graham Tabor of Thom Browne, Inc., Leah Wolfe of Simple Mills, Leif Fixen of The Nature Conservancy and Tom Gates of Ben & Jerry's. Here’s what we learned: 1️⃣ Collaboration & Trust: Successful regenerative agriculture programmes thrive on deep partnerships with farmers. Engagement, understanding local contexts, and co-designing initiatives with farmers are essential. Trust-building through on-farm dialogues is key. 2️⃣ Pre-Competitive Alignment: Industry-wide collaboration on shared metrics, data frameworks, and peer learning helps accelerate progress. Standardised methods for measuring outcomes, like soil health, are vital for credibility and trust. 3️⃣ Financial/Logistical & Market Support: Regenerative practices shouldn’t fall entirely on farmers. Brands and stakeholders must offer financial support, cost-sharing models, and technical assistance to ease the transition and address context-specific barriers. 4️⃣ Business Model Shift: Regenerative agriculture calls for a long-term resilience focus rather than short-term profits. It’s about shifting our approach for sustainable growth. 💡 Scaling regenerative agriculture demands breaking silos, amplifying farmer voices, and embracing pre-competitive collaboration. Success lies in aligning incentives, sharing risks, and embedding equity into our value chains. 🌍🤝We need to work together to make regenerative agriculture a reality! #PeoplePoweredAgriculture #ClimateAction

📣 We are thrilled to announce that we officially launched the implementation of the Sustainable Dairy Partnership (SDP) in Brazil last week with a workshop hosted by our partner, FairFood that gathered key stakeholders from the dairy supply chain to discuss and drive the collective commitment to a sustainable future for dairy farming. 🌍 The event served as a powerful reminder that the road to sustainability in the dairy sector cannot be travelled alone. Industry leaders came together to discuss global best practices in dairy sustainability and the challenges and opportunities ahead for Brazil’s dairy sector. Key takeaways: ✅ The importance of integrating processors and buyers into the global movement for sustainable dairy production. ✅ The need for collaboration and coordinated actions to tackle the complex environmental, social, and economic challenges the sector faces. ✅ Insightful presentations on the future of the dairy chain in Brazil—from sustainability trends, regulatory challenges, and innovations to practical actions that can lead to real impact. 🌱 Representatives from Viva Lácteos, Barry Callebaut Group, Mondelēz International, Kerry Dairy Ireland, Nestlé, and Interfood Group shared their sustainability initiatives and progress, highlighting the value of the SDP framework in guiding companies through a five-stage process to foster continuous improvement and impactful results in sustainability. 💡 What’s next? As we move forward with the implementation of the SDP in Brazil, the key message is clear: sustainability in dairy production is a shared responsibility. By aligning efforts, measuring progress, and engaging stakeholders, we can create a more efficient, fair, and environmentally responsible dairy value chain. 💚 Special thanks to our partners at FairFood for a very successful kick-off workshop #PeoplePoweredAgriculture #DairySustainability

📣 SAI Platform is honoured to lead a groundbreaking initiative in collaboration with industry leaders including PepsiCo, McCain Foods, International Potato Center (CIP) Center, The Rockefeller Foundation and 60 Decibels to support smallholder potato farmers in India. 🌱 The two-year project, launched in January, aims to advance the ecological resilience and livelihoods of farmers in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal through the introduction of locally relevant regenerative agriculture practices. With support from PepsiCo and McCain Foods, we'll establish lighthouse farms within key farming communities which will act as models for broader adoption. 🌍 Uniting industry leaders, technical experts and participating smallholder farmers, the project will also work towards developing a scalable model for integrating socio-economics into SAI Platform’s Global Framework for Regenerative Agriculture. The project’s focus is clear: 1️⃣ Identify relevant regenerative agriculture practices that can be integrated into smallholder supply chains. 2️⃣ Develop a scalable approach to monitor and support farmers’ resilience through socio-economic indicators. 💚 As we work towards a future where regenerative agriculture thrives globally, this partnership underscores our commitment to empowering farmers and advancing sustainable agriculture. ➡️ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e3SJ-GKv #PeoplePoweredAgriculture #Collaboration
