¡Hola, Barcelona!  We’re proud to officially inaugurate our state-of-the-art MSC Barcelona Terminal, designed by renowned Catalonian architecture firm Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, and the first call of EXPLORA II, the second ship from our luxury sister brand, Explora Journeys 🚢 A number of key dignitaries were in attendance at today’s ribbon cutting ceremony, including: Jose Antonio Santano Clavero, the Spanish government’s State Secretary for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Central Government Delegate, Carlos Prieto, Fourth Deputy Mayor for the Area of Economy, Tax, Economic Promotion and Tourism, Jordi Valls, Albert Dalmau, Minister of the Presidency of the Government of Catalonia and Jose Alberto Carbonell, President of the Port of Barcelona along with Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, Cruise Division, MSC Group, Gianluca Suprani SVP Global Port Development, MSC Cruises and Anna Nash, Global President, Explora Journeys. Introducing our latest World Class ship, MSC World America 🍾. We took delivery of our latest ship in our fleet yesterday. MSC World America has now set sail for our brand-new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, PortMiami – where she will be officially named and celebrated on 9 April. We also celebrated two other milestones and looked ahead to upcoming MSC World Class cruise ships: ⚓ MSC World Asia: entering service in December 2026 with sailings to Mediterranean destinations (from France to Malta) ⚓ MSC World Atlantic: entering service in winter 2027, and sailing in the Caribbean from Port Canaveral Catch-up on this milestone moment below ⬇️. https://lnkd.in/et2srgeb

What a proud moment as we welcome the latest member of the MSC Cruises family, MSC World America 🍾 Today at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, we celebrated three historic milestones with traditional maritime events: ⚓ The steel-cutting ceremony for the newly named MSC World Atlantic ⚓ The laying of two commemorative coins into the hull of the new ship, MSC World Asia, to bring good fortune for the ship during the construction period ⚓ The delivery ceremony of the MSC World America, which is where the ship officially joins our fleet We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made these milestone events possible. We also extend our gratitude to Chantiers de l'Atlantique for their exceptional partnership, resulting in the construction of this remarkable ship. MSC World America offers new venues and concepts tailored specifically to the U.S. market, combining our signature European style with American comfort. She is also one of the most energy efficient ships in the world, surpassing all requirements under the International Maritime Organization’s Energy Efficiency Design Index. Growing up in The Bahamas, Kyle Moss has always found solace in the ocean — a place of refuge, where the rhythmic sound of the waves brings him a sense of peace. Today, as a graduate student of the University of Miami, he is committed to protecting it for future generations. That’s why he chose to take part in our Super Coral Programme, actively contributing to coral reef conservation research.  Kyle’s work focuses on increasing the survival rate of newly outplanted corals, exploring innovative solutions to help these corals overcome the difficulties of being reintroduced into their natural ecosystem with the goal of strengthening their resilience, promoting biodiversity, and creating educational opportunities for future generations of scientists and environmentalists. His is a story of passion and innovation. Bringing the cruise industry closer to local communities is key for us at MSC Cruises, reinforcing shared commitments to sustainability, a passion for the wider maritime industry, and the promotion of the cruise sector.   Last week it was great to work in collaboration with the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and CLIA in Europe to launch an education programme first ‘“¡Todos a bordo!”, held at the educational institution, C.E.I.P Miguel Pintor, for primary school students.   Through interactive and engaging activities, children were introduced to the many professional roles onboard a cruise ship while embracing teamwork, communication, and respect for others.   Thank you to the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, CLIA in Europe Europe and the amazing MSC Orchestra crew involved in pulling this together and setting a valuable precedent for wider community engagement. We look forward to more initiatives and collaboration in the future!
