The International Security Ligue was founded in 1934. The registered offices are based in Berne, Switzerland. The Ligue is an association of private security organisations throughout the free world. Over the years it has played a vital role in defining, establishing and maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards of the private security industry as we know it world-wide. This has been achieved through the very open and cordial exchange of ideas and experiences between the member companies, who are all leading companies in the countries they represent. The Ligue is now represented on all continents and in thirty four countries. As a mark of the high esteem in which the Ligue is held world-wide it is represented in a consultative capacity as a non-governmental organisation at the United Nations and the European Common Market.

https://lnkd.in/gSTkufUM THE SECOND BIGGEST Business Risk in 2025? Business interruptions. It raises the question: How can a security operation better support the company’s business continuity program? In addition to ensuring the availability of boots on the ground, strategic integration between security operations and business continuity is vital. Read the article for 8 suggestions for getting the two functions to 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬: • Business disruptions, driven by both traditional and emerging factors, are identified as the second most significant risk by global experts—only overshadowed by cyber incidents—with many regions ranking them as the top threat. • To maintain business operations during crises when local resources might be compromised, organizations must ensure the availability of security personnel through strategic partnerships (e.g., regional security firms) that can provide rapid support. • Effective business continuity requires close coordination between security operations and continuity planning, including: meticulous mapping of security and continuity plans to prevent overlaps or conflicts, forging strong external relationships with emergency services, conducting internal training programs, coordinating risk mitigation activities, and continuously monitoring facilities for signs of vulnerability. #businesscontinuity #disasterrecovery #securitymanagement #businessrisks

  • THE IDEA of a cashless society appears good and dead, with countries that led the push now backpedaling as cyber threats loom and geopolitical tensions rise. Realizing cash is vital for crisis preparedness, 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. “Measures need to be taken to strengthen preparedness and reduce exclusion so that everyone can pay, even in the event of crisis or war,” writes Sweden’s central bank in a report. “Ultimately, when it comes to emergency planning, the world’s two most cashless societies are still banking on cash,” writes The Guardian (“Back to cash: life without money in your pocket is not the utopia Sweden hoped,” 16 March, 2025). #DigitalPayments #CashIsKing #CrisisPreparedness #SecurityFirst #CyberSecurity

The International Labour Organization says 49.6 million people are currently victims of human trafficking. By harnessing the millions of eyes and ears of frontline security officers, helping victims of human trafficking is another way private security enhances security in society. Security professionals are often in a unique position to identify signs of human trafficking, including observing evidence of controlling or dominating relationships or adherence to scripted or rehearsed responses in social interactions, and security professionals have surveillance and counter-surveillance backgrounds that can be tapped. 🛡️ Ligue Adds to Voices Calling for Needed Reform of Public Procurement Directive 🛡️ The International Security Ligue recently submitted a statement in support of the revision of the EU Public Procurement Directive 2014/24 as part of its “call for evidence” consultation. The Ligue’s statement and its companion research study stresses 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, which the existing directive fails to ensure, and advocates for targeted revisions for essential service sectors, such as security services. 🔑 It is crucial to maintain a high standard of integrity and transparency in all public tenders to prevent corruption, ensure quality, and manage taxpayer money responsibly. However, in the realm of security services, the stakes are even higher. Any negative consequences or contract failures in this sector can pose significant risks to public safety. 🔑 Without legal certainty for buyers to award and enforce quality, the current directive encourages a race to the bottom, endangering societal security. https://lnkd.in/g2Jsj2NU #publicprocurement #EUCommission #PublicSafety #GovernmentContracts
