465 old phones = a step toward conservation! 🌍📱 Last week, we had the privilege of visiting #FrankfurtZoo to donate 465 old company phones in support of 'One Phone for One Gorilla', their nature conservation project that protects the habitat of mountain gorillas. In partnership with Foxway Group these devices will be recycled, recovering valuable raw materials and helping protect gorilla habitats by reducing the need for new mining. A huge thank you to our Gate Gourmet ZD Gateway Gardens team, Katia Belon, Andra Knöpfle, and Ravinder Singh. Why mobile phones you ask? No other electrical appliance now determines our everyday lives as much as the mobile phone. At the same time, no small electrical appliance combines so many raw materials in such a small space, which consists of about 25% metals. Most of these metals have to be mined at great expense. Not only are resources consumed, but often the people, animals and plants in the area also suffer from the mining conditions.
