🆕New on the #ESOBlog: Eagle Syndrome is a rare condition caused by an elongated or abnormally angled styloid process that impinges on surrounding structures. It is classified into three subtypes: neuropathic, carotid, and jugular. The carotid subtype has been linked to ischemic strokes, although the underlying mechanisms warrant further investigation. Treatment options range from conservative management to surgical intervention. 💡 Future directions: despite its potential severity, carotid Eagle Syndrome remains underdiagnosed.
