The Atlas Agro Brazil team has successfully completed the initial engineering phase of the selection process for the optimal 345kV transmission line route to power the Uberaba Green Fertilizer (UGF) plant. After a thorough evaluation of environmental and social factors, a 4.5 km route was chosen to ensure efficiency and sustainability. We have now entered the basic engineering phase for the sectioning center, transmission line, substation and plant feeders. This critical work is being executed in collaboration with Intertechne Consultores, a leading Brazilian engineering firm with deep multidisciplinary expertise. This important milestone brings us one step closer to realizing our mission, and building the first nitrogen fertilizer plant powered by green hydrogen in Brazil. #UGF #NitrogenFertilizer #Agriculture #Engineering

💡Did you know? Buyer alliances are an important key to unlocking industrial decarbonization. 🌍🔑 One of the biggest challenges for low-carbon technologies is the uncertainty around future demand. Without clear market signals, game-changing innovations can struggle to scale. That’s where buyer alliances and Advanced Market Commitments (AMCs) come in. By pooling demand, these mechanisms: ✅ Guarantee a future market for emerging solutions ✅ Reduce investment risks for project developers ✅ Enable large-scale adoption of sustainable technologies For industries like green fertilizers, buyer alliances can drive market certainty, support long-term investment, and accelerate agricultural decarbonization. 🌱 It’s a proven model, with initiatives like Frontier (carbon removal), SABA (sustainable aviation fuel), and ZEMBA (zero-emission shipping) leading the way. The future of industrial sustainability depends on cooperative demand aggregation. Are buyer alliances the missing piece in your decarbonization strategy? The Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) hosted Atlas Agro CEO, Petter Østbø, at the Terra Carta Roundtables & Exhibition event this week, bringing together global changemakers and encouraging an accelerated transition to a sustainable future. SMI CEO Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, M.V.O., MBA offered gratitude to SMI founder, HRH King Charles III, as she encouraged summit guests to keep pressing forward with bold climate action, “As we think seven generations ahead, we must ask ourselves if we are doing enough, as CEOs and as leaders, we look to you, your majesty, for your vision, for your lifelong service, your moral courage and your relentless commitment to action. At this point in the journey, we would like to thank you and assure you that we remain committed and will continue to raise the bar. Thank you.” Learn more about the SMI's work on the 'All Things Sustainable' podcast from S&P Global and S&P Global Sustainable1: https://lnkd.in/gXsWAxw8

The Terra Carta Roundtables & Exhibition, SMI’s 5-year anniversary summit, concluded last night with a visit by His Majesty King Charles III. The summit laid out the economic case for transition. Five years ago, when he was Prince of Wales, the King launched SMI, a private sector CEO led "coalition of the willing" with the Terra Carta mandate, a roadmap to creating a sustainable future. Amid the splendour of Hampton Court Palace, His Majesty saw for himself the incredible progress that is being made, including the trillions being invested into clean energy globally. He spoke to CEOs from around the world across industry and finance and encouraged them to continue their efforts to accelerate a sustainable future. He heard from leaders of banks and investors who are committed to funding a future we can all believe in. He talked to young innovators developing the technologies of the future. If there was one message His Majesty heard loudly from SMI members, it was that investing in the transition makes business sense. It is the growth story of our time. #SMITerraCarta #TheSMI #AstraCarta The Royal Household

Follow along this week as our founder and CEO, Petter Østbø, shares about his experience from the inaugural Terra Carta Roundtables & Exhibition event, where he's joining other CEOs, innovators, entrepreneurs and political figures from around the world at Hampton Court Palace. The event kicked off with a tour of the Fortescue Green Pioneer Ship at Canary Wharf in London. 🚢 Five years on from the founding of the Sustainable Markets Initiative by His Majesty King Charles III in 2020 when he was Prince of Wales, The Summit will set out the economic case for transition to a sustainable future, and showcase the trillions of dollars invested by the private sector over the past five years and outline increased ambition for 2030 and beyond. Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, M.V.O., MBA, CEO of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, said the SMI is rallying a “coalition of the doing”, noting that trillions of dollars are needed annually to bring about sustainable transition. #SMITerraCarta #SustainableMarkets #GreenAmmonia #IndustrialDecarbonization #CoalitionOfTheDoing

The Fortescue Green Pioneer proves green ammonia can power shipping without carbon, another testiment to Fortescue and Andrew Forrest’s commitment to #realzero. If shipping moves from fuel oil to ammonia it will demand more than twice current world capacity, all of which today is fossil. Today few ships are ammonia ready and no green ammonia capacity exists at scale. Atlas Agro works to solve the chicken and egg problem by building integrated fertilizer plants using green ammonia, which makes it available for shipping; and when enough ships are sailing dedicated ammonia plants can be built. Like Greg Jackson said «soon we’ll look at fossil businesses like adults smoking with their children in the car with the windows closed»

Check out Keith Schneider's report in The New York Times today about the progress on cleaning up the Hanford site in Richland, Washington. We are supportive of the work Hecate Energy LLC is doing to advance national security, create jobs and address the increasing demand for power in the Pacific Northwest region. "Demand for power in the Pacific Northwest is increasing as more data centers are being built to power artificial intelligence. Businesses in the cities closest to Hanford — Kennewick, Pasco and Richland — and organizations pushing for job creation in the region formed the Tri-City Development Council, which has been encouraging clean energy and other environmentally safe industrial development on the federal reservation." “It’s a big plus for the region,” he said. “Future investors, take note: They’ll have the land. They’ll have water. They’ll have tax incentives for development. They’ll have 2,000 megawatts coming online, potentially by the end of the decade. Everything that a developer would want.” READ MORE: 🎁 https://lnkd.in/gb24k359 Learn more about Atlas Agro's first of a kind fertilizer production facility in Richland. 📽 LINK: https://lnkd.in/dQfXSApX #EnergyTransition #PNW #Agriculture #JobCreation #LocalProduction #Fertilizer
