Alexia from Aseptuva had the pleasure to attend the SurgTech 2025 conference in Leeds last week. 🌱💡 As part of our invitation to the Innovation for Healthcare Net Zero Programme, we’ve officially kicked off the journey toward embedding sustainability into every step of our innovation process. Together with Rich Shaw, Adam Peckham-Cooper and Pete Culmer, we began exploring how to maximise sustainability and carbon reduction potential in emerging health technologies. Mapping product life cycles and applying circularity principles sparked exciting ideas we’re eager to build on. More to come as we continue this collaboration! A big thank you to the teams at Accelerated Surgical Care HealthTech Research Centre, Pd-m, and Health Innovation Network for bringing this visionary programme to life. 🌍✨ #SustainableHealthcare #HealthTechInnovation #NetZeroHealth #CircularDesign #GreenerFuture

As part of their Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP), Innovate UK brought a delegation of some of the UK’s leading Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) businesses to Switzerland. All the 16 businesses that joined the tour focus on building solutions with AMR at the core of their value proposition. With Aseptuva, based in the Sitem StartUp Club (SSC) and in Cambridge, we had a prime example how international collaboration on innovation can work between the top medtech hubs of Switzerland and the UK. We welcomed the delegation at sitem-insel on Thursday, February 27, 2025, for a full-day of exchange, networking and pitching events with the Bernese AMR and R&D funding and business development ecosystem. Our colleague Julie Risse, PhD, MBA kicked-off the event presenting the vibrant sitem-insel ecosystem and introduced the cluster of our AMR-focused sitem-insel Community members. Dr Phil Packer from Innovate UK and Dr. Philipp Schneider, Science & Innovation Officer, demonstrated the innovation power of the UK Science & Technology Network. Our colleague Prof. Dr. Rudolf Blankart introduced the Swiss Round Table on Antibiotics, Dr. Lucy Hathaway presented the Institute of Infectious Diseases at the University of Bern and Dr. Kathrin Summermatter introduced the Biosafety Center, a designated WHO Collaborating Center. The sitem-insel AMR Community concluded with insights into ANRESIS, the Swiss Centre for Antibiotic Resistance, presented by Dr. Andreas Kronenberg. Isabelle Berthold kicked-off the R&D funding and business development ecosystem session and provided insights into the work of the Bern Economic Development agency. Dr. Prabitha Urwyler introduced Innosuisse and Nicole Wyss talked about the funding opportunities Euresearch provides. Thank you Innovate UK and to the delegation for visiting us. We very much enjoyed welcoming you and look forward to continuing the exchange. Special thanks to Sophie Mifsud, Rocky Moore and Bita Najafi for the organization.
