Let's restore Canada's shorelines. The health of your lakes and rivers depend on it.

About us

Watersheds Canada is a registered Canadian charity (863555223RR0001) committed to providing education programs in communities across the country to engage and help students, community groups, and property owners enhance and protect the health of lakes, rivers, and shorelines. Since 2002, we have delivered: - education programming and workshops; - freshwater stewardship programming, including shoreline naturalizations and assessments; and - communications grounded in science, including natural heritage planning and resource development. Despite our big name, Watersheds Canada is a small environmental organization that raises every dollar each year from donation, grants, and foundation support. We do not receive any yearly support for funding. What has always set us apart is our dedication to the local communities: we take the time to listen to the communities in which we work. This means our programming is always impactful, specific, and as efficient as possible.

  • The species of freshwater fish that inhabit our lakes, rivers, and streams are just as symbolic and iconic as the waterways they are found in 💚 However, despite this, it can be challenging to understand (and by extension, conserve) these species due to their aquatic nature. Allow us to present an all-in-one resource that will help you build your fish knowledge base: our recent blog post, '5 Webinars to Introduce You to Freshwater Fish Conservation'! 🐟 In this blog post, you'll be provided with 5 different webinars that will take you into the field to teach you about the process of completing fish habitat restoration projects, the impacts of climate change on these species, the use of underwater cameras in their monitoring and management, and so much more! Find the blog post right here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eRbX_w6Y 👈
