Species Spotlight: Northern Bush Honeysuckle (Diervilla lonicera) Northern Bush Honeysuckle is a small, hardy deciduous shrub native to North America. It typically grows up to 1m tall and forms thickets due to its fibrous, spreading roots. Northern Bush Honeysuckle's leaves are simple, oppositely arranged, ovate shaped, and have finely toothed margins. In the fall, they take on a variety of colours ranging from a deep purple to light yellow. This species has yellow trumpet-shaped flowers that appear in clusters on the tips of branches and bloom between June and July.
