Vancity has a strong reputation as a leader in the community, supporting members, investing in staff, and demonstrating an unparalleled commitment to the environment. Growing up with parents who sacrificed so much for a better future instilled in me a deep sense of gratitude and a desire to make a meaningful impact. That’s what led me to financial planning, helping members navigate different life stages with thoughtful and thorough advice. Seeing firsthand how financial planning can create security and opportunity, especially during pivotal life moments, has been incredibly rewarding. What initiatives have you led to support staff growth and daily interactions at Vancity? I’ve focused on developing strong financial planning frameworks to ensure my team has the right tools and knowledge to lead meaningful conversations and provide holistic advice. We’re in a privileged position to positively impact our members' financial wellbeing in so many ways, and that drives everything we do. I’m particularly proud of our Women-in-Wealth initiative that we launched pre-Covid and the incredible organizational DEIR initiatives within Sustainable Wealth Management (SWM) and Vancity. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing others thrive, whether it’s by mentoring peers, supporting members, or making a difference in their own communities. What’s your advice for making a real impact in a big organization? Be committed to your craft and continuous learning. Values alignment and a growth mindset are critical, so be passionate about what you believe in. Lead with curiosity and empathy, not judgment. How does your work contribute to building a more equitable and supportive environment, both for Vancity staff and the members they serve? By ensuring that all members have access to financial planning services and advice, we focus on the person in front of us, not just their financial status. It’s about providing the right tools and digital platforms to engage members in the planning process, empowering them to take an active role in their financial future. Looking forward, what are your hopes for the evolution of Vancity, and how do you envision it impacting both employees and members? I hope we continue to innovate through new technologies, products, and services to better serve all our members. By collaborating with partners and fintechs within our ecosystem, we can grow beyond our communities while staying true to our purpose of doing good.

    I’m honoured to have been appointed to the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Global Steering Committee. At a time when sustainable finance is facing both immense challenges and unprecedented opportunities, I’m excited to contribute to UNEP FI’s critical work in shaping the future of finance for a more just and sustainable world. The Global Steering Committee provides strategic oversight across banking, insurance, and investment, ensuring that financial institutions can drive meaningful progress on climate action, social impact, and responsible governance. The urgency of the climate crisis, the growing scrutiny of ESG, and the need for finance to deliver real, lasting change make this work more important than ever. UNEP FI plays a key role in aligning capital with sustainability goals, strengthening accountability, and building resilience in the financial system. I look forward to representing Vancity in this, and to working alongside an incredible group of leaders to advance this mission.
