In a recent interview with Insurance Day for their special report on Climate Finance, Eric Usher, Head, UNEP FI, emphasized the importance of robust national climate policies in unlocking the necessary finance and insurance for climate action. “The question is, how can you go from making a policy commitment of what the country intends to do in terms of addressing the different aspects of the climate challenge to something that is more concrete? The finance community needs countries to move from ambition-setting to clear policy priorities embedded in legislation.
