USask Canadian Mining Games Team

The Canadian Mining Games are able every year to provide scholarships to participants with the support of the Canadian Mineral Industry Education Foundation ("CMIEF"). Since 1964, the CMIEF is proud to be, by far, the largest undergraduate scholarship programme in Canada geared towards students considering a career in the mining industry. The CMIEF is now accepting scholarship applications. Congratulations to the winners of the Mineral Processing competition organized by Glencore Canada as part of the 35th Canadian Mining Games. Liam Rettyand Jessica Rudd (center) from Université Laurentienne/Laurentian University took first place with an outstanding performance, followed by teams from the The University of British Columbia and University of Saskatchewan. Well done to these future leaders of the Canadian mining industry!

What a weekend!! The USask Canadian Mining Games Team has returned home safely after an exhilarating weekend at Université Laval competing at the 35th annual Canadian Mining Games!! The team's dedication and support led to an incredible weekend. Co-captains Jade Saunders and Jordan Cemulini could not have been more proud of the the team's drive and hard work which led to an exciting 4th place finish for the team with the following top 3 placements: 1st Place - Crisis Management (Jade and Mila) 2nd Place - Underground Mine Design (Jade, John, Jordan, and Seth) 2nd Place - Open Pit Drill and Blast (Jamie and Mila) 2nd Place - Jackleg (Clay and Chris) 2nd Place - CAD Challenge (John) 2nd Place - Commodity Trading (Ayden and Seth) 3rd Place - Mineral Processing (Lian and Mila) As well, one of two MVP awards was awarded to Jade Saunders!
