A new chapter in community care is taking shape. We’re proud to be working with the Peterborough Community Health Centre to transform two storeys at Peterborough Square into a vibrant, accessible hub for inclusive health care. Located at the corner of George and Simcoe, what was once a commercial space is quickly becoming a place of connection, dignity, and support. Lots of progress is already underway, and we’re excited to see this vital project take shape alongside our construction and community partners. #PeterboroughCommunityHealthCentre #PTBOCHC #ProjectHighlight #ProgressUpdate #ProjectAnnouncement #PTBO #LoveLocal #CommunityHealth

At Unity, we believe architecture should give back—to people, to place, and to the planet. Our Regenerative Design approach is grounded in five principles: supporting well-being, building for resilience, ensuring universal accessibility, choosing responsible materials, and conserving resources. These values aren’t add-ons—they’re built into every project from the start. Peterborough Fire Station No. 2, completed last fall, is the City’s first to target both net zero energy and net zero carbon. It’s powered by solar, heated with geothermal, and returns surplus energy to the local grid. The mass timber structure contains embodied carbon and contributes to a lower overall footprint. The design also preserves the surrounding forest and nearby park, reflecting care for both site and community. We design spaces that are adaptable, inclusive, and future-ready. Spaces that serve not only today’s needs, but tomorrow’s potential. This is what regenerative design looks like in action. #RegenerativeDesign #Resilience #UniversalAccessibility #MassTimber #Geothermal #LoveLocal #Peterborough #FireStationNo2 #SustainableDesign

Cue the spotlight! With $35 million in provincial funding announced yesterday, the revitalization of the Royal George Theatre in Niagara-on-the-Lake is officially moving forward — and Unity is proud to be leading the design. Our firm has a rich history with the Shaw Festival , an over 50-year relationship since the opening of the Festival Theatre. Together, we’ve shaped the spaces where world-class performances come to life. We’re honoured to be part of this legacy — and excited to see the curtain rise on a bold new chapter for the Festival. This is a moment to celebrate, and a powerful reminder of how essential public investment is to our cultural institutions. Like many in the sector, Shaw is a not-for-profit that relies on grants to turn vision into reality. These projects are rooted in passion but made possible by funding — and this is where we thrive. As leaders in collaborative design and construction, Unity brings deep experience navigating the complex journey from funding announcement to final performance. That means we’re already a step ahead — fully aligned with Shaw’s timeline and requirements, and ready to ensure the Royal George Theatre remains a source of inspiration for generations to come. 📸 Shaw Festival Stan Cho #TheShawFestival #RoyalGeorgeTheatre #NiagaraOnTheLake #FundingAnnouncement #LegacyProject #Celebrate #Exciting

We’re proud to share that The Canadian Canoe Museum is featured on the cover of Canadian Architect magazine! Congratulations to everyone who brought this remarkable space to life. “The architecture does not compete with the collection—it supports it, elevates it, and creates space for quiet awe.” – Canadian Architect Dubbed a “Canadian Classic,” to have this project recognized by Canadian Architect is a meaningful honour from our peers. This project exemplifies our commitment to value-led design—strengthening communities and amplifying stories that need to be heard. We approached the design with restraint and purpose—allowing the architecture to reflect its natural surroundings, serve the needs of the Museum, and quietly honour the significance of the collection. We’re proud to have helped create a space where design uplifts history—and where every detail invites reflection, connection, and belonging. LEA Group, Kelson, D.G. Wayfinding is more than just signs—it’s how people intuitively navigate and connect with a space. A well-designed system doesn’t simply give directions; it becomes part of the environment, reinforcing identity and enhancing the experience. By thoughtfully integrating materiality, colour, and form, wayfinding extends the architecture—responding to details, textures, and natural elements. When accessibility, culture, and design come together, spaces evolve into immersive experiences—informing, inspiring, and naturally guiding people through their journey. #Wayfinding #WayfindingSystems #Accessibility #Iconography #Navigation #ExperientialGraphicDesign #GraphicDesign #SignageDesign
