Love that gives back. 💙 On February 22, 2025, Kevin and Nicole Zhou celebrated their wedding in the most meaningful way — by giving back to their community hospital. Between their ceremony and reception, the couple visited Oak Valley Health's Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) for a special moment. 💍 To honour their marriage, Kevin and Nicole made a generous donation to MSH. Their names will be permanently installed on our limestone donor wall as a lasting legacy of love and community care. Whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, or wedding, there are so many ways to mark life’s special moments while supporting compassionate, life-saving care close to home. About us
Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation exists to enable the growth of Oak Valley Health's Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH). We are a supportive hand for our community and our hospital. Privacy Policy: https://mshf.on.ca/privacy-policy/ MSH is one of Ontario’s leading community hospitals serving Canada’s most diverse population in one of its fastest growing regions. Caring for over 437,000 patients each year, with 354 beds, redeveloped facilities, excellent clinical programs and leading health technology, MSH proudly provides patient care that uniquely combines the scope of a large hospital with the warm and personal touch that only a community hospital can offer. MSH is honoured to care for the more than 450,000 residents of Markham, Stouffville, Uxbridge, Richmond Hill, eastern York Region, north Durham and north Scarborough. Government can’t fund all life-saving equipment and top priority needs. Generous donor support is the reason our growing and aging community can count on exceptional care close to home, today, and for generations to come. Together, we can bring a lifetime of care closer to home.

To wrap up our series spotlighting the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation team, we’re celebrating the "only children", or those without siblings, on our team — the solo stars who bring their one-of-a-kind energy to everything they do. Whether they’re independent, expressive, or always ready to take the lead, these team members know how to shine. Their individuality is a valued part of our team and plays a meaningful role in helping the Foundation reach its goals. Swipe to see them serving both sass and smiles. 💁♀️😄

It’s National Pet Day, and as part of our series spotlighting the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation team, we’re celebrating the pets who brighten our lives — from tail wags to tiny hops. 🐾 These companions bring comfort, joy, and unconditional love. They often become the quiet support systems behind the team members who help drive our mission forward. Whether it’s a warm welcome at the door or a calming presence during busy moments, our pets help us recharge and refocus so we can continue showing up for our hospital community. Swipe to meet some of our team’s beloved pets. Don’t forget to give yours a little extra love today. They deserve it!

Over the next couple of days, we'll be sharing a three-part series that highlights team members of Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation — the indiviuals dedicated to supporting care and connection in our community – and some of their loved ones! We’re kicking it off with National Siblings Day! Sibling relationships have shaped and supported the people behind our mission… they are our first friend. Much like the relationships we build through fundraising, the sibling bond is rooted in trust, loyalty, and a deep sense of care. These are the same values that guide how we engage with donors, collaborate with hospital partners, and build meaningful connections throughout the community. Swipe through to meet some of our team members and their siblings and get to know the people at the heart of the Foundation. 💙

The Bachra family name is synonymous with philanthropy at Oak Valley Health's Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH). Their giving spans decades, with Bill Bachra leading community efforts in the Sikh community, serving on our Golf Committee and Foundation Board of Directors, and most recently launching the Bachra Family Golf Tournament in 2021 to honour the care his parents received at MSH. In recognition of their incredible contributions, we are proud to name the Reception in the Fracture Clinic in honour of Bill and Manjit Bachra and Family. Thank you, Bachra family, for your unwavering commitment to compassionate care, close to home. Your generosity continues to inspire generations of giving in our community.

Suzanne Crone’s mental health struggles caused her to feel a dark, spiralling hopelessness and loneliness. Thanks to the help she received through the Nanji Family Mental Health Services at Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH), Suzanne not only has hope — she gained the tools to cope and is also using her powerful story to help others. She credits the kindness and empathy she received from MSH’s staff for helping her feel like she was safe and that she was going to be okay. Suzanne is just one of many in the community who struggle with their mental health, in fact the demand for mental health services has risen 25% in recent years. Expanding mental wellness services for both adults, as well as youth and adolescents, is critical. Which is why your help is needed today. Find out more about Suzanne’s story and how you can help support every patient on their path to recovery by visiting https://lnkd.in/gpj5bPxf

As a specialized volunteer in Oak Valley Health’s Patient Experience Participants program, Theresa Arbuthnot contributes to the compassionate, patient-centred care that Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) is honoured to provide. We are excited to welcome her expertise in amplifying patient voices to WITH MSH’s (Women Inspired To Help MSH) growing collective of dedicated female philanthropists. “Donations are required since government funding does not cover all of the costs to maintain and expand the hospital both operationally and physically. I consider my financial contribution as an investment in the hospital to be able to provide the best quality of care close to home,” says Theresa. Join us for the official launch of WITH MSH on June 3 at the Hilton Markham Suites. For more information on how you can make a difference with Theresa, visit the link in our bio.
