March in Greater Vancouver arrived with all the signs of spring—cherry blossoms in full bloom, lively outdoor markets lining neighbourhood streets, and a fresh sense of energy as Vancouverites and BC residents welcomed the longer days. From the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival to the return of patio season, the city came alive with colour and connection. Amid this seasonal momentum, the real estate market told a more tempered story. Home sales registered on the MLS® in the Metro Vancouver for the month of March were the lowest going back to 2019 for the same month, while active listings continue to their upward trend. Greater Vancouver REALTORS® reports that residential sales in the region totalled 2,091 in March 2025, a 13.4 per cent decrease from the 2,415 sales recorded in March 2024. For most children, March is a time for family vacations and fun with friends. For others, it can mean an unexpected hospital visit or ongoing treatments due to illness or injury. That’s why 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 and their agents in the Okanagan have come together to make a difference by adopting March as 𝗧𝗼𝘆𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵—an initiative designed to bring comfort to Kelowna General Hospital‘s youngest patients and their families. Initiated in late 2023, 𝗧𝗼𝘆𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗻 provided comfort to over 𝟭,𝟰𝟬𝟬 patients across 𝟭𝟮 departments at 𝗞𝗚𝗛 during its first year in existence. Throughout the month of March, Stilhavn agents in the Okanagan are rallying support for 𝗧𝗼𝘆𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗻 by encouraging community members to contribute to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation @kgh_foundation. When added to the $𝟭𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 commitment made by Stilhavn agents, donations will help provide the resources needed to keep 𝗧𝗼𝘆𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗻 stocked with toys and supplies, ensuring that every child facing a hospital stay has access to a bit of comfort and happiness. In late 2022, Stilhavn REALTOR®, Phil Tarrant, and his wife, Caroline, suffered a devastating loss when their son, Wyatt, was born still. Wyatt was a beautiful, perfect, 6lb 14oz full-term little boy. Phil and Caroline found comfort and support during that immensely difficult time through the Butterfly Run. A registered non-profit organization, the Butterfly Run is an organization dedicated to supporting those who have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss. Fund raised during the annual event are used to provide support through bereaved parent meet ups, increased advocacy in the media, free support and counselling, and the small, but much appreciated token of bereavement boxes in hospitals across BC. In 2023, Phil and Caroline, together with their friends and family, raised close to $10,000 toward the Butterfly Run. Their team – Wyatt’s Warriors – is looking to continue their support during the upcoming runs held in Vancouver, Kelowna and Nanaimo on October 5, 2024.
