From beanbags and bathtubs to full-blown rideable machines!! 🛁💨
Hack the House was a HIT at Beakerhead 2024 and this video proves just that! Our friends from Imperial Oil and Alchemy captured the highlights from the grand obstacle course challenge at Beakerhead where four teams took to the track to delight, dazzle, and inspire audiences!
Taking home the prize for Creative Vision was the File Buggy for their out-of-the-box thinking, using a filing cabinet as a sturdy frame for their build.
The Engineering and Technology Award went to The Couch Potato for their brilliant (and comfortable!) solar-powered hoverboard.
Jeremy the Racing Tub generated a buzz amongst the crowd with its unconventional materials and giant size! Despite its weight, it ended up being the speediest build of the event, and took home the award for Impact and Application.
The Fan Favourite Award voted on by Beakerhead spectators went home with the Barbie Beheaders for their spectacular Game Night Getaway build!
These teams truly put their engineering and creativity to the max as they crafted some epic sustainable vehicles. They may not be highway ready but they sure did rock the Hack the House course! 🙌🏼
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success - the participants, the TELUS Spark Science Centre team, and of course, the sponsors. This was the biggest and best Hack the House YET, all thanks to you!
Interested in getting the gang together and taking on the challenge? Stay tuned, registration will begin soon for Hack the House 2025!
