BC’s Spring 2025 construction stats are in, here’s what they show according to the British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) Stat Pack: - BC currently has $158B in active construction projects and $173B in proposed projects, with construction contributing 10% of the province’s GDP. - The industry employs over 250,000 people, but ongoing labour shortages persist, with 14,100 current vacancies and another 11,500 expected by 2034. - Multi-unit residential construction remains strong, with BC accounting for 19% of national investment and averaging over 35,000 housing starts (6-month rolling average).
