As the world looks to alternative energy sources, nuclear power is experiencing a resurgence. To help assist the energy transition in Saskatchewan, SRC Nuclear is working to bring a microreactor to the province. The team has been collaborating with Westinghouse Electric Canada for several years to learn more about their first-of-its-kind eVinci™ microreactor and its potential uses for Saskatchewan. This microreactor is essentially a nuclear battery that is transported to site and "plugged in" to produce power for a variety of crucial applications - from powering a mine site to providing reliable energy for off-grid and edge-of-grid communities.
