I would describe the culture at Mark Anthony as very supportive and welcoming. MAG puts their people first and wants to see everyone grow and learn in their roles. We work hard and never miss an opportunity to celebrate our wins. What advice would you share with students interested in joining the Wine Sales Development Program? I would say, take the risk! Moving to the Okanagan and working at Mission Hill last summer was the best decision I could have made. I’ll Be There For You by The Rembrandts because working at Mission Hill truly felt like an episode of Friends. 😊 How would you describe the culture at Mark Anthony Group? The most supportive company I have ever worked for, personally and professionally. You are truly a part of a team that wants to see you succeed and does not limit your creative ideas. You are encouraged to explore new ideas and opportunities, to think outside the box and see what comes of it. It’s a culture that makes you feel valued and cared for, you’re more than just a name on the payroll but an individual who really matters and the support you receive not just at work but outside of work, reflects that. What advice would you share with students interested in joining the Wine Sales Development Program? My advice is to make the most out of every opportunity you have during the program. If given a chance to change up your day to day, take it because the experiences you have during these 6 months will be invaluable! Decide where you want to go with the company and reach out to people in those roles, it’s the most welcoming environment. Even if you are unsure which direction you want to go in the future you will be able to grow and network so much throughout this program. Think to yourself, why not? Its okay to not know something (how are you supposed to know what you’re doing when you’ve never done it before?). Asking questions will save you a lot of time and mental energy. What song best describes your summer working at the winery in the Okanagan Valley? The Show Goes On – Lupe Fiasco In my time in the Okanagan, teamwork was everything. We enjoyed the highs together & helped support one another through challenges. We quickly became a second family. Mission Hill became our home away from home, a world class facility paired with incredible people & wine. Fighting Covid-19, heat waves & forest fires…..together we made it possible for “The Show” to go on! How would you describe the culture at Mark Anthony Group? The culture at Mark Anthony Group is unmatched. My colleagues are among my closest friends. From early morning meetings sharing successes on how to get the sale, to laughs on the phone over long drives in market, oh and can’t forget the group Sunday grocery shops. Our team is truly united. At Mark Anthony I feel heard & valued. We all contribute to the culture here and everyone’s opinion matters. What advice would you share with students interested in joining the Wine Sales Development Program? Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Change can be intimidating….moving away from home, starting in a new industry. But change is how you grow. The Mark Anthony Wine Sales Development program is a one-of-a-kind experience. A great journey to embark on post-graduation and an easy transition once I met the people involved. My summer in the Okanagan proved a great transition to the “real world,” helping me develop transferable skills that lend to success in my current role.
