The Shefa School, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, is a unique educational environment dedicated to serving students with language-based learning disabilities. Blending specialized teaching with Jewish cultural traditions, Shefa fosters a strong sense of belonging and growth. As part of a wayfinding project that reimagined navigation across the school’s 12 vertical floors, designed by Dattner Architects, we developed a system that is intuitive, inclusive, and deeply connected to Shefa’s mission. Our approach integrated bilingual English and Hebrew signage, meaningful Jewish symbols, and a color-coded system that enhances both navigation and identity. More than just guiding movement, these elements create an environment that supports learning, celebrates culture, and strengthens community. Celebrating World Landscape Architecture Month with the Tom Patterson Theatre! Honouring the legacy of the Stratford Festival's, founder, the new Tom Patterson Theatre reimagines a cherished venue that has been part of the Festival since the 1970s. In collaboration with Hariri Pontarini Architects, Entro developed a wayfinding and donor recognition program integrated with the architecture and the beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding the theatre. Our New York office was proud to host students from Juan Morel Campos High School for a fun and engaging visit! Students from grades 9 to 12, all interested in careers in transit design, art, and architecture, had the opportunity to learn about real-world design applications. We shared project samples, walked through our design process, and wrapped up the session with a hands-on activity—sketching possible icons for a transit system. The Heffron Centre serves as a dedicated space for the South Sydney District Rugby League Football Club (South Sydney Rabbitohs), an indoor sports center, and a gymnastics facility. This $58 million centre, the result of a private-public partnership between Randwick City Council and the South Sydney Rabbitohs, was designed with the community in mind, combining professional sports facilities with accessible spaces for local residents. Our team worked to ensure that the Heffron Centre is easy to navigate and welcoming for all visitors. We developed the wayfinding strategy and designed both interior and exterior signage, including large building identification signs, to guide users effortlessly through the facility. Beyond navigation, we fused experiential design elements that celebrate the legacy of the Rabbitohs and the community’s connection to sports. Entro is collaborating with Chicago's Metra Commuter Rail on system-wide wayfinding improvements, with the goal of developing a system that is inclusive, accessible, and user-friendly for everyone.
