We’re proud to share that Winpak is the recipient of the first Efficiency Manitoba Sustainability Award through CME Manitoba! This new award recognizes companies that are leading the way in sustainability and energy efficiency efforts, contributing to a better future for Manitoba. Winpak Ltd., headquartered in Winnipeg, is a leading packaging company with 13 manufacturing facilities across North America. Winpak Ltd. is participating in our Strategic Energy Manager Initiative which helps industrial customers adopt a culture of conservation and fosters a forum for continuous improvement. Through this initiative, we support participants in hiring an on-site energy manager to plan and implement sustainability initiatives. With help from our Strategic Energy Manager Initiative, Winpak Ltd. was able to identify and implement nearly 30 energy-saving projects. Their Winnipeg facility is expected to save over 4 million kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity and 310,000 m3 (cubic metres) of natural gas every year.
