📣 The Climate Risk Institute (CRI), in collaboration with DHI and the Natural Assets Initiative (NAI), is pleased to announce the development of a new Coastal Project Options Appraisal Guide to support climate-resilient decision-making in coastal regions across Canada! Funded by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) through their Standards to Support Resilience in Infrastructure Program, this project will result in a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) on Coastal Options Appraisal to guide consistent and transparent decision making. From nature-based solutions to built infrastructure, this PAS will support practitioners in evaluating and comparing coastal adaptation options using a shared, evidence-based framework. A public review period will take place this spring to gather feedback on the draft guide. We’re interested in hearing from those who make or inform coastal decisions, including technical experts, as well as staff from municipal, regional provincial and Indigenous governments. The insights gathered will help shape the Guide so that it reflects the needs of coastal regions across the country.
