A New Name for a Bigger Mission Hi Friends, You'll soon notice some exciting changes happening here at CleanO2, and I wanted to personally share what's behind this upcoming evolution. We've come a long way since our early days of pioneering micro-scale carbon capture. As our technology expands, especially in the United States and Japan, we felt it was the right time for our name to better reflect who we are and what we do. That's why I'm excited to share that CleanO2 is becoming CarbinX Technologies – CarbinX for short. Don't worry—we’re still the same dedicated team, now with a name that speaks directly to our flagship technology, CarbinX. Meanwhile, our original CleanO2 brand remains strong, particularly focused on products made from captured carbon. So, think of CleanO2 as our consumer-facing identity (the soaps and other products you love!) and the chemical commodity that we produce for various industries, and CarbinX as our commercial technology brand dedicated to helping businesses dramatically reduce emissions. In the coming weeks, you'll see this LinkedIn company page transition to CarbinX, while a brand new CleanO2 company page will launch soon after. We’re thrilled to share that the Radisson Blu Mall of America has been leading the way in sustainability by integrating our CarbinX carbon capture technology into their operations. Over the past two years, this partnership has resulted in a reduction of 6 to 8 tons of CO₂ emissions annually and a decrease in natural gas consumption by up to 20%. The CarbinX system not only captures CO₂ emissions from hotel water boilers but also repurposes them into valuable byproducts like potassium carbonate, which can be used to produce eco-friendly soaps and detergents. Additionally, the system functions as an economizer, reclaiming waste heat to further enhance energy efficiency. An independent lifecycle analysis by the University of British Columbia confirmed that CarbinX captures and reclaims more energy than it consumes, underscoring its effectiveness and sustainability. Grayslake High School is the first public school to have active carbon capture as part of its heating and mechanical systems. Having the opportunity to help students get excited about energy literacy, climate change, and how we can all play a part in solving problems together is incredibly important. CleanO2 and Tokyo Gas have signed a co-development agreement and begun working together to optimize the design of CleanO2’s next-generation CarbinX Version 4.0 carbon capture unit. CarbinX™ units capture CO2 emissions from commercial and industrial buildings. The two companies successfully collaborated to improve the CarbinX™ Version 3.4 to adapt it to broader boiler applications and the unique operating conditions of the Japanese market and are now joining forces to complete the design of CarbinX™ V4. The new Version 4 design is intended to more than double the volume of CO2 captured from its current version, to yield emission reductions greater than 50%. The new design will also increase the production of valuable carbonate and bi-carbonates that are generated from the capture process and can be used in consumer and industrial products such as soaps, detergents and fertilizers. The modular design will facilitate better access to space constrained mechanical rooms and make servicing the units significantly faster and easier. Electronic monitoring and remote control capability will also improve operating efficiency and optimize performance.  “Our initial collaboration with Tokyo Gas on our V.3 units was very successful and we are thrilled to have them assist us in optimizing our new V4 unit design. Tokyo Gas has a high-level R&D facility and its engineering and testing capabilities will bring an additional level of performance and reliability to our V4 units, allowing us to confidently deploy and operate them in the field”, says CleanO2’s CEO, Jaeson Cardiff.  Tokyo Gas has partnered with other Japanese companies to develop and manufacture new consumer products such as fertilizer and laundry detergent that are made from the CO2 captured by the CarbinX units. “We are pleased to be involved in the development of the new V4 unit through this partnership. We aim to develop a device that is easier to handle than the current version and more easily implemented also in the Japanese market. By providing on-site CCU technology and various other solutions, we will continue to promote initiatives  to reduce CO2 emissions together with our customers,” says Shinobu Kawaguchi, Senior Manager of Solution Technology Sect. from Tokyo Gas.
