Before heading to Lake Tahoe, Sophie Williams wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As a P&C Generalist and avid skier, she was excited but, the night before, a little nervous too. She had been nominated for Arc’Adventure — a week-long experience designed to celebrate members of our collective who go above and beyond by giving them the space to reconnect with the outdoors with no barriers. A chance to step away, reflect, and Live It. From her first time catskiing to a hike with the Washoe Tribe’s women and children, Sophie leaned into every new moment with curiosity. She built connections with teammates she’d never met, challenged herself in ways she didn’t anticipate, and returned reenergized... with a few more stories to tell. “Looking back, embracing the unknown led to some of the most rewarding moments. In the mountains, Arc’teryx runner Jessie McAuley relishes moving through a space where he has to be totally present. “The alpine seems like an environment that’s not natural for a human to be in,” he says.
